They’re stacked with AA’s. If Dave can’t get it done this season it may be time for a change

Last year was the year. Their all world SS threw it to 3B.

Eh, we would have just found a way to blow the 2nd game anyway.

From reading the offseason discourse, this team seems to me to have a higher ceiling and lower floor than last year's team. We brought in some guys that have 1st/2nd round potential (Maika Niu and TJ Pompey), but they still have to take the next step. We also have a couple of true freshmen (Turner and Brumbaugh) that could be in the lineup on opening day...so there are more "unknowns" this year, IMO.

As an Arkansas fan I'm sure that would make me feel sooooo much better about him choking away an opportunity to win the first ever National Championship in program history while watching LSU win their 8th after having them beat....

I doubt it so just asking if DVH is on any kind of hotseat or has he earned the right to retire on his own?

They lost a lot both on the mound and from the lineup

Gaeckle - can he handle a full time starting role, he didn't last year
Dietz was getting rave reviews in the fall as he has the stuff, can he put it all together
Wiggins will be out until May if he returns at all

They had the most talented team last year and couldn't finish the deal in Omaha
Sometimes the most talented teams don't always play the best down the stretch when it counts the most

Texas, A&M, LSU, Tenn, MSU, Auburn all bring back really talented teams

Dave didn’t miss that routine foul ball. Dave has gotten teams to Omaha that shouldn’t have been there and missed going with some teams who should. He’s a great coach who now finally has the facilities and money to field next level talent, we’ll see if his team can finally not beat themselves. Firing him would be stupid.

This year’s team looks solid and Dave always coaches a top level style defense, like everyone else it depends on pitching and we look good there. Hitting should be fine as well. We’ll see.

They have a lot of very good pieces, but honestly last year was there best shot. But they’ll have a chance this year again it’ll just be how it breaks out in the postseason. They’ll be hosting again.

Their best team was a couple years ago when they were the SEC regular season and tournament champion. Unfortunately, injuries late the season did them end.

To answer your question, DVH's seat isn't hot. I think he's earned the right to retire if/when he decides. Kinda like Norm did.
