How bad has LSU coaching been? It hasn’t been a lack of talent for years.

Loads of talent and resources. Absolutely atrocious coaching.

This is why most coaches consider LSU to be a top 5 job in college football.

"Here are the 22 colleges that had the most former players listed as active on an NFL roster as of Dec. 29, 2025, according to ESPN. Free agents and players on injured reserve or practice squads are not included on ESPN's list."

Ole Miss has 37 active NFL players.
Took me 2 seconds to google that information.

Coaches can get the talent. But very very few can coach them up.

I probably say this at least once a week since I joined this sorry arse board.

Injured reserve should count. They are getting paychecks aren't they?

Yeah they should. Should probably clarify the guys who played at multiple schools, maybe count the school they actually played the most at.

Is it top 5 with the fan expecations? I know ours certainly go down further for that reason. Tons of pressure each year to be very good. Seems like Texas A&M would be top tier job because tons of money, very low pressure(how long has it been since they have won a title after all). I know coaches thrive on pressure, but unrealistic exoectations can hurt.
