When’s the last time your team lost a coach to another NCAA team?

I think for LSU it was Paul Dietzel in 1962.

Gotta be Holtz, I think.
edit, wait, no that was to the NFL.
After reviewing, it would be Bowden Wyatt in 1955 who went to his Alma Mater in Hillljack Land.

Does Saban count? Or the Dolphins stint nullified that.

Which team has lost not one but two head coaches to other teams not only within the same conference, but within the same division (or would be same if we still had those).

For Auburn, 1933, had to Wikipedia that one. So I guess that's accurate.

Believe it or not, Mizzou lost Frank Haith to Tulsa in BBall.

I forgot that Houston Nutt technically resigned for other reasons before taking the Ole Miss job. I guess he retired, then decided a day later he wanted to coach again.

Someone is gonna steal Drink at some point out of desperation next year.

Kinda crazy for Bama to have 2 that recently. Just shows the pressure that comes with that job.

They lost Mike Price too, but that was to a professional.

nah we fired Hootie. His on the field probably didn't warrant it, but he was such a toxic little goober

Bill Curry to Alabama after the 1986 season.

James Franklin 2013 to Penn State. Usually our coaches fail and get canned. Last basketball coach was Eddie Fogler to South Carolina in 93 after a season much like the one we’re having this year.

Joel Hunt went to Wyoming in 1939 and was replaced by Wally Butts.

I can't think of one in football who did at Florida though maybe one did many years ago.
In basketball Mike White did us a favor going to GA so we didn't have to pay him a buyout.

Doug Dickey left Tennessee for Florida in 1970. He was fired from Florida in 1978. Ironically, he went back to UT as AD after he was fired. He also led the effort to strip Florida of the 1984 SEC title.

Dickey really did that about our 84 season. Messed up. The farthest back coach I really remember much about was Pell starting with that 1980 turnaround season. I do remember vaguely my dad bitching about Dickey in 78 and cussing a lot during the 79 season when we didn't win a game all season.

Bragging that no one has wanted your coach in over 60 years is not the flex you think it is.
