Just because Wade had to go doesn’t mean LSU had to hire a department store mannequin to replace him.
And with that contract. He is currently making more than NC St is paying Wade. And we're tied to $6 or $7m still after we fire him.
I understand that with the possibility of sanctions looming it would be hard to find a quality coach. But shite. Someone else out there would have taken the job for less. Hire an up and coming assistant from somewhere on a small salary and short term so that when the sanctions are lifted (or dont get handed down) you can get out of the contract and make a better hire. But Scott fricking handcuffed us.

Wade fixes that problem immediately.
I buy my family season tickets the day he is announced. Anyone else and I don't. I wait and see. I don't think I'm alone. It's that simple for Verge and the board.

It is kind of fricked up that someone that lives 1.5 hours away from the district is going to run to represent it in congress and get the President's endorsement.

only thing that saved him was going into ADs office and saying give me more NIL money
The only thing that saved him was that Will Wade was there for the taking and Woodward was our AD. If Wade signs the NC St deal a year prior, Scott fires MM last year. But b/c there would have been so much pressure to hire WW and Scott absolutely wasn't going to do that, he kicked the can down the road another year. And it ultimately cost him his job.

I disagree. I unabashedly want Wade back. If our job comes open with this much of the season left the heat will be on him to make a statement about it. With that much time and his team playing well it would be too much pressure for him to say anything other than he's got no interest and will stay at NC st.
I think we should fire him right before the sect.

I think the Wade haters overhype NC St as a prestigious basketball school a bit. They're the 3rd best program in their state and the gap between them and 2 is huge. The gap between them and 4 (WF) is not.
They do have 2 titles but the last one was in 1983.
In the last 20 years they have just 2 more ncaa tournament appearances as us and one of those they werent going to make it until they won their conference tourney. That same year their fluke run continued and they went to the final four... but thats their only appearance in the final four in those 44 years since their title. We've been twice in that time span.
If the argument is support - sure. NC St's revenue share program provided $1m more than LSU's did to their respective basketball teams. I'm pretty sure that difference and then some can be made up to lure Wade away. Our athletic department as a whole generated over $100m more in revenue last year than nc st did. 223m vs 120m. Almost double the revenue - they're not gonna be able to out-bid us if we really want Wade.

Offensive ppg and SEC ranks in the Wade era:
17-18: 77.5 (3rd)
18-19: 80.4 (2nd)
19-20: 80.5 (2nd)
20-21: 81.8 (1st)
21-22: 72.6 (7th) - this was the year our defense was dominant. 2nd in SEC.
Man. Yeah you poor thing. Having to sit there and watch that.

Yeah I guess in theory winning the SEC tourney could get you in, so you have to "let him have the full chance".
I've always thought a mid-season firing for basketball would be pointless but this comment may have me changing my mind. In the highly unlikely event that we run the table in the SECT and make it in, he would have momentum to keep his job and hang around for next hear. And we cant hold the future of our program hostage in the event they go on a 4 game miracle run in the tourney. I think Verge would be best to make the move later in the season but before the tourney.

Last years class had a higher per player ranking, and there are a few teams this year that have higher per player rankings than us.
That volume hurts the per player rankings. We have to fill a roster. Only 38 players from last year remained on the team. We took 40 players.
If you look at last year's group with a higher per player rating you'll see we only took 18 kids - 0 5*, 12 4*. 5 3*. This season with 40 kids we have 3 5*, 11 4*, and 23 3*.
Last year's group finished with a 90.53 rating. If you take our top 18 this year its 92.60.

How do you and Massie propose we deport the illegals if ICE doesn’t have any funding?
Funny you should ask!
Did you know that this funding bill cuts deportation and enforcement funding to the tune of $115m? Or that it cuts out 5500 beds in detention centers? Or that in order to make those cuts yet still keep the same level of funding as prior years (so as not to alarm people who dont care enough to look into it) it shifts that money to body cameras, over sight and de-escalation training?

It is amazing that you think true Libertarians follow a national party and platform that speaks for all of them. That alone would break a core tenant of Libertarianism which is individualism!
Step away from team politics for a moment. I know more than a few people who say they are more libertarian than republican because of the way the Republican Party has operated. I can bet those same people would read the platform you just posted and say "...yeah I'm more conservative than that". You don't have to align 100% with what a party defines itself as. I would say if you do then congratulations you are a useful and controllable tool to them. And if that's what you want - to allow others to form your stances on issues and speak for you then more power to you. But to those of us who choose to form our own opinions you look no different than those on the left.
I'm not down with the points made about anarchy or open borders. You and I are in agreement.
But I do have the following to comment on:
and? "America First" =/= "America Only". Do you really think it is impossible to be America first and also hope that the world frees itself from tyranny?
That is not at all what it says. That is an incredible leap to make. You are reading what you want it to say rather than what it actually says which is "....so long as they do not forcibly interfere with the equal right of others to live in whatever manner they choose." You also don't even realize what you are typing. "... and the organization decides to allow IT to compete against girls..." that my friend is an organization forcing something onto unwilling participants which is against the statement you were quoting says and the statements that you quote later in the post say.
Conservatives haven't exactly lived up to their end of the bargain. For recent examples please see the bill being discussed in this thread.

Is the greatest college football coach of all time the benchmark for good coaching now? Pretty high standard you got there.
Wade was 34 years old when he took the LSU job. His peak is still in front of him. While he was here he was the only coach in 25 years to make the tournament 3 years in a row (and it would have been 4 had 2020 had a tournament). He had a top 3 scoring offense in the SEC all but 1 of his years (and the year he didnt he had the #1 defense). In 5 seasons he has sent 11 players to the NBA - 5 still currently playing. (McMahon is on year 4 and has sent 0... hes got some catching up to do). And most importantly he had the fans paying attention to LSU basketball.

I certainly don’t think anyone realistically considered that a possibility
It was real. Temple, Mallett, and Ballard were in favor of bringing him back. The governor was also involved. They had discussions with his camp and Wade was coming. Scott was against it. In the end the board decided that going over Scott's head and forcing him to hire someone he previously fired and did not support re-hiring would effectively neuter the AD and his authority over Wade.
This has been written about in articles and on here but I heard it last year before any article was written. Behind the scenes the AD and others involced with the basketball program at McNeese were very forthcoming to people about what had happened and thats how the info got out.
