I enjoy watching basketball. I do not enjoy watching 10 seconds of basketball followed by a stoppage for free throws followed by 10 seconds of basketball followed by a stoppage for free throws ad infinitum. This is ridiculous.

I just wish refs had consistency

If they let them play on first half do so the second, or if they’re going to use their whistle do it consistently.

I hate when they don’t call fouls on a consistent badis

This is the price of admission to the tourney where the free throw contest stops and the play begins.

Same reason I’m not a huge football fan.
10-20 minutes of gameplay action in a 3.5 - 4 hour broadcast

Your opinion is your opinion and I'm not going to try and change it, but I'll say that the break between plays in football is part of the game. I can understand if that turns you off of the sport, but there's a lot of strategy and gamesmanship going on even in the spaces between plays. Basketball, on the other hand, is supposed to be a game of constant motion, kind of like soccer or hockey. Interrupting that motion every 10-15 seconds for free throw attempts spoils the flow of the game and makes for a barely watchable product.

Or players could quit fouling. Basketball is impossible to officiate. Every call…almost…is a gray area. The game is no longer basketball. Way too much contact and use of hands. That leads to officials seemingly just making random calls. What is a foul? Sometimes officials call a foul when they breathe on them if it is a shot…and then let the defense undress the dribblers or cutters. First half…no fouls. Second half…everything is a foul. They are consistent there. More fouls should be called to clean up the game. And move the shot clock to 40
Or 45 seconds. That would improve the game.

Can you please call Verge and tell him it’s a sport, because I think they think it’s an intramural sport

College basketball is terrible product. The last 2 minutes of a game are unwatchable due to the fouls and time outs. Basketball has dropped below baseball/softball.

All a player has to do is drive to the basket, and he'll get fouled.

hard to watch for sure. Most teams not running any offense. It is just free lance and drive to the basket and get fouled. Out of control. No shooters anymore. Terrible product.

64 fouls
4 players fouled out
One player played 4 minutes and had 4 fouls

That game was unwatchable

Not a defender of officials but that is not an officiating problem. That is a problem with how the game is played and the rules. The short clock creates much of this. Move the clock to 40
Seconds and it will
Clean a lot of that up. Also…coach players not to foul.

Soccer is my favorite sport and has been since the 2002 World Cup. Americans dog it, players flop around, etc etc... but the one thing people do not think about is that at least the clock is always running and counting up.

You can bank on a typical league soccer match being exactly 2 hours.

frick basketball and football.

One team shot 38 free throws and the other shot 50. If you thought the REC controlled Bham you'd think Bama was the team that shot 50 free throws, but of course as usual AU fans can't think critically or even look at the stats to see that it was Vandy with the free throw advantage.

I was at the game. It took forever. I was very tired. But it was loud as hell in there.
