Indiana’s average roster age is 22.5. The Philadelphia Eagles is 24.3.

According to below tweet. People are wondering how the heck they are doing what they’re doing? That’s how.
They have more 6th year seniors than underclassmen.
There isn’t a single offensive starter under 21. Grown arse men.
This is just like college basketball after the one-and-done era. If you can’t stockpile 4/5* talent in your 2-3 deep for 4 years anymore, this is the way going forward.

That's exactly what I expected.
That's great roster management.

I’d bet Vandy’s is up there too

I'd ask you the average age of Alabama but I'm sure Ryan Williams will skew that so never mind

There is a whole new wave of pissed-off upperclassmen at Mid-Majors Cignetti is bringing in for Round 3 whose mere presence on a roster would upset all the star-watching fans of 'legacy' programs.

Cig did a damn good job of evaluating talent at JMU. He raided a bunch of their roster when he left and they still didnt drop off.

Well the super senior crowd should be no more after this season so that’ll drop the averages across the board.

Auburn resigned a 5th year DL last year after he initially signed wirh Auburn in 2020. He bounced around at Liberty and somewhere else before coming back to Auburn.
This year that dude was formidable as a rotational piece. There is tons of logic in going after grown men.

RB3 #21 Martin is a RS freshman that would start for a lot of other power teams, so there's youth on the roster.
#17 Ndukwe is a true sophomore filling the absence of the injured Staley... he was a key piece in the DL rotation multiple times throughout the season.
#21 Hardy is one of the leading tacklers in the country at LB and is a true sophomore.

I’d love to see the OL numbers. That is where they were most impressive.

Why weren't a lot of these Indiana players rated higher than high 3 stars as transfers? I think they only had 3 big four star transfers (their transfer rating) they had to shell out real big money for. The services aren't good at rating transfers or is that coach just great at finding gems that might not be big NFL prospects?

Vandy’s roster was 38% graduate transfers and Seniors.

Sounds like the coach is taking advantage of the modern rules to gain an advantage at a historically bad program
Much better than guys like Dabo who refuse to embrace the way things are now and you see where’s that gotten him

A little history folks. When Army was tearing it up, post WW II ?
A bunch of enlisted men suddenly accepted into the Officer Corps at West Point. It wasn't magic. It was grown men beating the piss out of 18-22 year old boys.
Nothing has changed. Nothing is new. Look - I can't be so old as to be the only one to remember Keith Lee at Memphis State.

Wicked smart approach and perfect execution by the coach. He’s the next great one, without a doubt.
Indiana built an old school roster with new school rules.

Which means unless they go to south Florida and recruit those guys again from the senior living facility, they are in a world of hurt next year. Thats not sustainable but it can win you a title one year or get close to it.

The current leading tackler was a 0-star recruit Cignetti brought in who played as a freshman last year.
Sorry it's still stinging a bit.
