True or false, alot of the holes Indiana backs shot through would have stiffled our backs.

I think so. Our guys are slow and lack vision. Hill is not going to slash through the narrow, barely visible holes in Bama's D. Nor is bucket step Jam.

We don’t have holes in our line, that’s the issue. Indiana’s backs were 3-4 yard up field before contact
Complaining about the backs is just a lazy angle at this point. If Brian Robinson can get 5 YPC, Jam and Daniel Hill sure as shite can with an actual line

For a 240lb “bruiser”, Daniel Hill sure seems to go down easy on first contact

And here's the thing. For most of the game (excluding the last 20 minutes when we got gassed/quit), it wasn't that the Indiana OL was blowing us off the ball. We held the line of scrimmage decently well, Keenan was actually getting push on their IOL.
They just got a hat on a hat and prevented our DL and LBs from making a play. It forced the DBs or the backside players to be the tacklers, and if those are the guys getting the first hit, the RB is going to be upfield by the time it happens. A safety at a dead sprint from 10 yards off the line can't meet the RB at the line of scrimmage. And it was Hubbard playing cleanup in the run game all day because Indiana clogged up our front 7 players, and we couldn't shed a block.
That's what we have issues with and why we so often don't have holes. It's not that we can't get push. We just can't get our OL to get their hands on the defensive players they are assigned to block.

Somewhat true. Some people blame our offensive line, some people blame our backs. The truth is, it’s both. Neither are consistent when we do have holes our backs never make the best of them.

Brian Robinson is significantly more talented than either of those guys.

Absolutely true. Even our "fast" back lacks explosiveness

Longest run of the season 56 yards
Second longest 30 yards
That’s pitiful and I bet close to last place!

Alabama doesn't have a RB at this time.

There’s not a shot in hell one of Jam, Riley, Or Hill isn’t equivalent to Brian Robinson and his cement shoe feet. Him and Hill are mirror images of each other.
The line sucks, that’s really the crux of the issue. Same issue Saquon Barkley ran into with the Giants, even if these were the greatest backs in the past 20 years they’d be struggling with -1 Yards before contact that our line is producing:

No telling. Complete speculation.

Robinson has been solid in the NFL. Not sure any of our current guys will have that outcome. But I see your point, particularly with Hill. Robinson certainly had a much better OL in his money year for us.
I know one thing for damn sure, though. None of our current RBs could hold Brian Robinson's jock strap in pass protection.

Man, I thoroughly disagree. Robinson was an underrated back for us, and he is quicker, has better vision, and way harder to tackle than anyone we had on our roster in 2025. There is a reason he was an NFL starter in his first 3 seasons(after getting shot in his knee and his arse right before his rookie season.) Now he backs up one the best RBs in the NFL.

This is true too. I just can't wrap my mind around how incapable of run blocking we were. And you can't tell me that we don't have the dudes to do it. Proctor, Brailsford, Carroll, Roberts, Formby, etc are all plenty good enough for us to achieve even 4 ypc. But we could only muster 3.1 fricking ypc this season. Bottom 10 in all of cfb in rushing offense. Its just straight up inexcusable.
Roberts is a good case study on how bad our Oline coaching has gotten. Dude was absolutely MAULING dudes in the 2023 SECCG. Dudes that are now starters on top NFL defenses. As a senior he should have been first team all-american and high up on every draft board. Yet, he got WORSE as a junior and a senior to the point where he is just an afterthought. If DeBoer doesn't can Kapilovic like real soon, then I won't even know what to say.

People forget Robinson didn't really hit his stride until his Sr. year.

Robinson has been a platoon back three years with the redskins and was traded during his rookie contract to be a bench back
He’s probably the worst starting back we’ve put in the NFL since Glen Coffee

The line sucked, the backs sucked. Neither lacked good talent. They were poorly coached and you could see it on the field in games.
Didnt help that we have absolutely NO identity as an offense either.

Coffee was pretty good, just got tired of playing and joined the Army.

If any of our backs get into an NFL game they will have to buy a ticket.
You don't stick in the NFL as long as Brian has without being good.
