Can we finally admit that the bye months are a disaster

Outside Indiana beating a DEI mid tier Bama team that didn’t deserve a spot in the playoffs in the first place. If it was Notre Dame or Vanderbilt instead, the game would’ve gone completely differently.

The BYEs need to go.
Make all 12 play 1st round.
If 1 plays vs 12 that’s a virtual BYE week if you have to play against a JMU or Tulane type.
Plus it gives the 1-4 seeds the opportunity to host a game at home.
More football, don’t see how ESPN can hate it.

You can't do that with a 12 team playoff because after two rounds you end up with three teams still remaining.

Well when it goes to 16 in the next iteration, you'll basically have the same bracket you have in Basketball, but instead of it being a Region it is just the whole tournament. 1 vs 16, 2 vs 15 etc. Top 8 will host, next 4 games are at traditional bowl sites, semi finals and championship games following that.

Need to create a new D1 before this happens, there’s over a 120 D1 teams I can guarantee you at least 30(and that’s being generous) don’t have a chance in hell at beating a playoff team

Eliminate conference championship games because they’re absolutely meaningless now.
Start the playoffs first week of December and play the first 2 rounds before Christmas. Play the semifinals around new years. And the natty like 10 days after.
