Would you say that being in the SEC is better than it was in the big 12 or would you go back if you could?
Personally, I’m thinking the conference is even better now with both of y’all are in it.

Much better. Already playoff wins for Texas and an appearance for OU. And more money, which is why they joined.

Thanks! Being a part of the SEC is much more fun with its longtime history, traditions, huge fanbases, and love of football. As you may have noticed, Texans have egos, and playing in the “best” conference suits us, and greatly helps our player recruiting.

It’s hard to win this conference, but if we could put together a team good enough to beat the likes of Georgia or Alabama, that also gives us a chance to win a natty again.

Glad to have Arkansas back which gives us our 3 annual blood feuds for the first time since 1991.

Not having to go Waco, Lubbock, Manhattan, Lawrence, etc is a bonus.

Mix in getting to play one of Alabama or Georgia every year is awesome.

So far so good I just wish my cuck coach would hire a real offensive coordinator and stop calling plays but that isn't the SEC's fault and would be a problem anywhere.

SEC is the SEC. To be part of this amazing conference is an undeniable pleasure.

The new scheduling model that keeps our core rivals on our schedule every year, yet keeps each years schedule fresh by alternating the remainder of the league going forward is absolutely fantastic.

If you want to be the best, play the best.

Next years scheduling is the fairest it has ever been. Georgia is gonna shite themselves.

It is no coincidence that, exactly one month to the day after the SCOTUS decision allowing players to be paid, the news broke that Texas and OU were joining the SEC.

It is great for having meaningful games every Saturday.

It is stupid for trying to win championships, just like scheduling difficult OOC games.

The people who run Texas athletics are a dangerous combination of arrogant and stupid. This is why we are playing in a meaningless exhibition bowl game, and Texas Tech has a first round bye in the playoffs.

I've said it many time: the difference in historical significance, pageantry and road venues alone was enough for me to be juiced about being part of the SEC.

It’s hard to get excited to play Iowa State, Kansas and Baylor year in and year out.

We had the Cotton Bowl and maybe a non conference game to look forward to.

We have three rivals. SEc means we get to play all three every year. That’s what college football is about. Don’t love NIL combined with portal even though it helps us. But getting rivals back is huge for me. So glad about the move.

But in ‘27 they play all of them. With this model the powers that be in the SEC can’t hide teams from one another. As fans, it’s going to be good for everyone going forward.

Thank you for the kind words. 99% of OU fans are excited and happy we joined the SEC. Yes, it's definitely much tougher, but believe we are a much better fit culturally than in the Big 12. Wish we would have joined a long time ago.

100x better. Not even close. Even the games against the bottom dwellers are fun because of the fan support in this conference.
I would never want to go back.

Never happening. His arrogance blinds him to his faults. You'd think not being able to beat kirby or day would make the light come on upstairs...nope, he just blames the defense

As an OU fan who goes back to the old Big 8...

The Big 8 locales were all nice campuses (except for maybe Nebraska) and were all located in quaint, charming little college towns except for Nebraska (which was small city). It wasn't bad. We had Texas and three other non con games. There was maybe four or five games a year that were tough and six breathers so to speak.

Then we got put in the Big XII south where we rotated through the Big 8 a lot less and had to go to Lubbock, Waco, College Station and Ft Worth all the time. None of which were really quaint little college towns. Lubbock was just a grimy version of Lincoln with a similar level of campus environment. Waco was just a dead city and the stadium wasn't on campus until later years. Ft. Worth was always just a meh experience and you all know about College Station.

The SEC schedule we have played in the two years have not included really any breathers. A way more varied environment of destinations both campus wise and city wise. it kind of sucks that you can't really road trip but about three or four of them in a one day drive...

And the environments are more big time and grand...

But I'm still telling you that when you go into a small stadium full of Kansas or Iowa farmers who hate your guts...and have for generations... it is still crazy.

That is something we don't have with the original SEC teams and may never have because their fans are already hired wired to hate their rivals and I don't think OU will ever be dominant enough to raise that level of hate.

The SEC and the BIG 12 aren't comparable.

Under no circumstances would I want to go back.
