Reread the game thread, those first 30 pages or so had Alabama fans whining and wailing.
They are fortunate to have a coach who kept his head and figured out how to slow down the Sooner offense and getting his offense on track.

Alabama outscores Oklahoma 34-7 after falling behind 17-0. Surely in that span of time, Oklahoma could have seized momentum back. If they were indeed the better team.

It’s funny you say that because in the last game, OU deserved to lose despite Bama’s stats but as soon the table turns, it doesn’t matter. However…
I think we all can agree OU definitely overachieved this season and I’m cool with that. Would’ve been nice to beat Bama again and maybe go toe to toe with Indiana. We were definitely not winning it all with our putrid offense. Not this year. Nope.

You do grasp Mateer threw it to the flat because that is where he threw it earlier in the game where Alabama showed cover 0 and got several yards. That is what the WR was supposed do in cover 0. Break off the route to the flat or a short hitch. But Alabama switched to cover 2 where the WR saw the switch and ran a deep hitch or fly like he was supposed to. Mateer still thought it was cover 0 so he threw it to the flat… exactly where the CB is supposed to be in cover 2. Mateer saw the wrong coverage and the WR didn’t.

That’s basically the Bama narrative the first game. I haven’t seen a single person say “we killed ourselves” from Oklahoma.
