sec championship is super important

winner gets a bye in the playoffs and a SEC championship....seems important to me.
If you lose you play in the first round and for bama on the road....
Win the game and get a first round bye with 2 season losses
thats pretty big stakes
The SEC isn't going to be left out of a BYE. and your not putting OM, AGGIE, or OU above Alabama if they have the SEC crown and 2 victories over the dawgs.
As a bama fan I still hope for a national championship season.....and IMO the only way id feel like Alabama had a punchers chance to at least reach the natty would be to dispose of the dawgs and secure that bye

An 11-2 SEC champ with 2 wins over UGA (both away from home) and who played 2 P4 OOC not getting a bye would be a bad look for the committee.

Bama is the #1 seed. Just give them the SEC championship on that basis.
