It’s weird that Bama fans are coming off as jilted exes as much as or more than Ole Miss fans.

I’m not sure that one counts. If it does, Ole Miss fired him too.

Was LSU mentioned in the OP? Talk about insecure. And there wasn't even a NAME mentioned. Just a "yes" or "no" question.

That's why we signed Kiffin for under $100 million!

So to answer your question: No. I don't know of any coach fired 3 times then signed to a $100 Million dollar contract.

How many more times does he need to be fired to tie or surpass Billy Martin?

Did lsu fans not hear Todd mcshay talking about how lane wanted to see if bama opened up if they lost to Auburn? He obviously values lsu more than ole miss, but Alabama is still at the top of his list.

in a vaccum it’s possible he would have preferred Alabama to LSU if both were open

once you’re at LSU there is no reason to leave for another college job, there are no resources available there that aren’t available here and there’s no in state competition at LSU. That’s how coaches look at these jobs.

I in no way doubt Kiffin views Bama very highly. But I do doubt this is in any way true as does anyone really believe Deboer is gone if they lose to Auburn? Are we saying Deboer was one touchdown away from being fired this year? Seems not very likely and I doubt Kiffin thought so either.

I'm not saying he would have been fired, but the pressure of losing to Auburn, missing the SEC Championship game and missing the 12 team playoff might have been enough for him to leave for a job like Penn State.

Using your criteria of not totally being fired and not quite 100 million:

Bill Belichek

Pete Carroll

Not bad company and accomplished it way more quickly!

Sounds like the dude has this life thing figured out if you ask me.

Kinda like Bob Nardelli at Home Depot. Tanked the stock and walked away with 200 million in his pocket.
