Crain is a clown. He doesn’t know shite. This morning he was claiming it was Durkin and he’d tell the story once it was announced.

Sheesh. I was kind of being half serious earlier when I said the Soviet Russia angle needed to die, but now I’m serious. Hearing 3 guys continue to make references over and over is cringe as frick. It’s almost like hiring a guy with an Italian heritage and making non stop God Father jokes. God forbid Golesh has lost family members to that communist regime without us turning him into a cheap meme

Yep and this is the story. It is similar to Hoke's version...He was surprised by Golesh.

He referenced that. He’s saying something happened at the last minute because the Golesh hire came out of nowhere. He thinks someone shut Cohen down at the last minute to prevent him from hiring Durkin and they hired Golesh instead.

Apparently Cohen fricked up the Sumrall hire also by agreeing to let him interview Durkin and making a decision on whether to retain him. At some point it leaked out that Cohen was working on an extension for Durkin and others and it pissed Sumrall off.

Contradicts Hoke. Crain is such a joke and has never been right.

I find it hard to believe that it was a last minute thing with all the promo stuff they pumped out quick after the announcement. They had promo videos, photos, emails, and other shite that went quick.

I could see this actually being true. I think Durkin is being forced onto the next coach to hold recruits and that he has done well.

It doesn’t take a marketing dept long to put those things together, especially with AI. Probably have basic templates and it’s just a matter of plugging images and videos in

The cheap approach to holding onto left overs is problematic . It’s exactly why no top tier coach will ever be at AU. Boosters unwilling to buy what is needed is the only thing keeping us from winning. They cling to nostalgia and history keeping the fanbase loyal like Chicago Cubs fans. In reality, it’s what will alienate the alumni

Golesh said he was offered the job at 1 am this morning. It sounds like Jboy’s story might be correct.

I like the video. Seems like it is a new day. He seems intense. You can tell he is tired but is setting a standard early on. Based off that intro to the team, I don’t think there will be Mercy Me playing at practice. He even said “f”.

Wake up boys…it isn’t a worried about hurting feelings approach. Could we be heading back to “blood on the saddle”?

I hope so. I’m pumped.

(know it's not your quote...BUT....)

Wouldn't his hire have been the frickup?

Sumrall cooled on Auburn when Florida became an option, and Urban Meyer badmouthed us It's as easy as that. The rest is the agent insulating his client from blame, after they, "slow played," Auburn for days.

Jake Crain failed spectacularly claiming it was DJ., right after he failed spectacularly claiming Hugh Freeze would be successful. That video is more about mitigation of those failures, than it is an explanation of Auburn's.

He is wrong. There is no extension or new contract for DJ. DJ is already one of the highest paid coordinators in the country.

So did AD JC ask the candidates the question how long will it take you to beat bama? As Coach Dye answered 60 minutes back in the day.

Who knows where they came up with that scenario, but if you've been around Auburn, long enough, there's no way that you would totally deny that it could have happened. I'm going to bed we will never know.
