Maybe I missed it but what was wrong with Ryan Williams?

Our game plan last night needed bigger more physical bodies on short routes. The staff knew Durkin would put maximum pressure on Ty and he wouldn't have long to throw. Ryan is a downfield threat and it takes time for that route to open. Horton was the better option, and it showed. Against UGA, you will see a lot more Ryan.

There were many times he had plenty of time to throw. But no one seemed open, or he wasnt throwing them open, or the OC route schemes suck.

DCs are taking away the intermediate stuff because they don’t respect our run game and don’t think Ty can hit or be protected long enough to win games with the deep passing game.

Wouldn't bother me anymore if Grubb found another job. He absolutely will not stop running plays that need space to the short side of the field where there is no space. Its insanity.. This is besides the pass routes and Ty not being given easier routes to complete passes. As for Ryan Williams, I'm just over him. Either step up or transfer.

2nd and 10 run plays and outside runs to the boundary are my two biggest pet peeves with play calling.

On a couple of plays when he was in the game, he seemed to be going through the motions.

Honestly, I think he's still dealing with hamstring issues.

I saw a post that Grubb has used RW in the slot 61% of the time. RW is NOT a slot WR. He doesnt excel in the middle of the field. Keep his arse on the outside

I didn't want to post it because I hate the person who tweeted it, but here it is (and another one that shows how Grubb also misused JSN in Seattle):

Or he made bad decisions (all of the above, though). There were a few 3rd/3-6 yards plays Ty went for a 30 yard pass down field. And as you said, he's scared right now to throw someone when they are breaking or about to come open.

On Grubb, you forgot to mention the inexplicable and usually extremely goofy and dangerous gadget plays that he throws in every now and then that never seems to do anything other than be a drive killer.

Ryan Williams is not a slot receiver. This was a huge mistake by the offensive staff and I've been saying it since early in the season. Williams a flanker/Z receiver through and through. He's fantastic at making one on one catches.

Problem is that Bernard is probably our best Z and Horton is a pure split end/X receiver. It would have been nice if Williams could have been a slot/H receiver so you get your best three out there at the same time. He's not flourished though. They've probably decided that Brooks is the best option at H now so he's probably sharing snaps with Bernard.

I'd have to break down the tape to see where folks lined up and when they were on the field but it felt like that last night. He just needs to make the most out of his snaps.

He’s not good enough to play over other guys.

This. Grubb pulling the annexation of Puerto Rico on first down when we had total control of the game is what opened the door for Auburn to get back in the game. We had total control of the game and he decided to get cute and it backfired.
