Im not looking to slam him per se in this thread but would like some discussion about what's going on with him.

Obviously none/most of us have no behind the scenes information.

He seems to have regressed. Is it because he is being given more to do, making changes that he wasn't making early on (would have to go back and watch film)? Did they make the offense more extravagant? Does the sometimes wacky play calling get him out of a rhythm? Did the Heisman talk go to his head?

Defenses are taking away the middle of the field and daring him to hit a deep ball. He literally cant do it

He still looks like the same Ty we saw against USF in 2023.

Think I’ve heard he has a nagging lower back injury. Makes sense with some of his errant passes. It’s the kind of injury you just have to play with unless it just becomes unbearable to throw. Probably a muscle with him getting some electrical shock therapy.

Ty hasn't really played any meaningful snaps before this year, teams needed some tape on him to figure out his tendencies. It took about 5 or 6 games for someone to figure out how to game plain against him. Once a team has a blue print other DC 's copy it until we figure out how to counter it. It's a chess game , this happens every year in the NFL , a QB will come out of the gate on fire , but by mid season he can't complete 50% of his passes.
Ty and grubb have to start making teams pay for blitzing , they need to have a hot route instead of these long drawn out routes . The middle was open Everytime auburn blitzed their lbs . We didn't hit many slants into open space when they brought the house. They have become too predictable and easy to game plan for. In my opinion I think we need to do more hurry up , ty needs to keep a few more of the RB reads and run more.to keep the D's honest, we definitely need some quick hitting hot routes. Ty is a really good QB when he has time , he's not Elite but is good enough to win every game we play if grubb would stop having brain farts for stretches in the middle of games.

Throws a flat deep ball. Doesn’t give receiver a chance to run under it. Literally he’s missed probably 4-5 touchdowns that should have been easy. Gotta put more air under it. If he could hit one or two it would change the offense.

He’s been dealing with a physical issue for several weeks and the hits he took tonight won’t help him to heal anytime soon.

He is more inconsistent but he has been facing a ferocious pass rush. Some guys are coming in basically unblocked. There is plenty of fault to go around.

My 2 cents (for what it’s worth):

1. He’s badly hurt and it’s affected his play. The staff is aware of this but feels that his grasp of the offense is better than the other QBs and thus gives Bama a better chance to win.

2. Offensive line play has been inconsistent at best. Way too many whiffs.

3. Ty has gotten a bit greedy and held the ball too long. Not always but sometimes. He needs to learn to tip his hat to the defense and throw it away. No shame in that.

4. Defenses have learned an all out blitz usually works because Grubb seems to have no answer for this and the WRs usually don’t adjust their routes accordingly. Don’t believe me? Go back and watch these games. Rarely do we have any receiver or TE with a hot route or comes back to try and help the QB.

5. We REALLY miss Josh Cuevas. Very reliable TE.

So, in short, some of it is Ty’s fault. Some of it’s not.

We REALLY missed Cuevas tonight - he would have been the solution here

Well, at least he’s not depressed.

Limited skill set. Good college quarterback, not great. The 2 behind him are better. Simple as that

Hes playing great to elite defenses with weeks to prepare for him...and he threw 3 TD passes last night. He had no time at all. Bryce Young looked worse there, with a better offense, against a worse defense.

Really? Look, I don’t know for sure if either quarterback is ready to take the starting spot, I just know both of them have a higher upside. You mention Star Jackson, but why not Tua? You act like a coach can’t be wrong. Simpson sat for 2 seasons under Milroe. I rest my case

We had one hot in the OU game where he hit Cuevas on a a little 8 yard throw right behind where the blitz came from. For the life of me I don’t get how we don’t have a route like this every time a blitz is coming. The routes now take forever to materialize and then Ty is either backpedaling or scrambling
