If tweet fails to load, click here. Good on him confirming to his players and fanbase that he is staying!
Then again that’s what coaches who are actually staying would do.

He should have been shown the door not extended.

Good for us but tough for the Mizzou fans. It seems clear their program realizes Drink is the best coach they’ll be able to get, and they’re content with seven to nine win seasons.

Sexton Season Special ™
Name gets floated for every single SEC job opening, and he ends up getting overpaid by the school he’s at. Rinse, repeat.
Nick Saban was making less than $4Mil per year on average during his outrageous initial contract with Alabama.
Now we got dudes on the cusp of his 4th season with 5+ losses getting paid $10Mil per year.

I expect a much larger, financial commitment, not only from the university, but from boosters, etc. That’s really what it’s all about. More money, better players, Frick Opoo & your broke arse state.

It’s great news every September and parts of October

You guys are paying Drink nearly 11 million dollars and we’re one game away from the playoffs on Venables’ 4th year. 0 playoffs with Drinkwitz on his 6th year. You’re good with that I guess.

The buyout is reasonable. The defense is good. If he overhauls the offensive staff with good hires, it will be worth it. If he proves too stubborn to do that, then he's gone next year in a less crowded hiring cycle.

For a coach that's 1-10 vs top 10 teams.

OU will be in playoff again this year. MizzOU never will.

And LSU and Florida fans collectively exhaled

He just put together back to back 10 win seasons & as you experienced knows how to put together a stout team.
I don’t get the hate. Happy Thanksgiving.

Because I forgot: the Rant doesn't do reasonable. My fault, truly. Carry on.

Good to see him off the table for UF.

Probably a good move. Drink is best recruiter in last 40 years at Mizzou, does well in transfer portal and with NIL. Not a great game manager. Needs to dump Moore as OC and hire someone that can score a few touchdowns against defenses with a pulse

Now, go tell everyone his record against top 10 teams or SEC teams with a winning record.
Fools gold.

I saw a comment elsewhere that the deal will make us #5 in the nation with NIL but haven’t been able to verify it through a news source.
