If you want to be objective, you can go find out. It's public information.

For Mizzou, 2024

Which sports had the most expenses?
Football: $52,836,720
Men’s basketball: $17,208,023
Women’s basketball: $5,407,301
Baseball: $4,877,874
Softball: $3,464,791
Brett McMurphy, big time Mizzou hater for leaving B12 and shittiing all over ok st on the way out.

I have to mute Tessatore, his fake enthusiasm is cringe.
Stupid. TV money and greedy drama queen schools would start demanding more money and special treatment destabilizing them and we'd end up close to current situation.

Respect to the SEC old guard big brands for not being greedy little bitches.

We'll have to wait for next year to find out.

God help us if he's not good enough to get by the piggies.
I don't get why people hate on Harry Potter so much. He's just a nice young man with some football IQ who's not afraid to respond other a-hole coaches.

Heupel way too high, likes to run up the score if he can.
Feels good to help the needy on Christmas.
Last year Okie State would have gotten a bye and Liberty would have gotten in. So if they're going to let garbage like that have a spot, then I'd say just go 16. That's pushing it, but at least all the legit teams would have a chance.

For Mizzou I'd move Arky up to #2 and Illinois to #3.

As for NU and OU, it's been more of a hammer/nail rivalry historically, but going forward it could be more interesting with that sweet sweet SEC revenue. Mizzou should already be on even ground with NU. Will need to keep building to ever get and stay close to OU's level. Still recovering from Babs Uehling trying to kill the football program in the 1980s.

Just don't care about about ISU or KSU, never considered them rivals even back in the Big 8 days.

Agreed, pretty embarrassing for Mizzou to be so close to a non power conference team in all time record.

Lets assume the favorite wins the games this year. It becomes:

Mizzou 12 Arkansas 4 >> .750
OU 66 Mizzou 23 >> .742

Much better.
The lesser team could always pull the upset, so good luck to all.

Mizzou, Arkansas and OU

All time head to head:

Mizzou 11 Arkansas 4 >> .733

OU 66 Mizzou 22 (5 ties) >> .750 excluding ties

Sad to see OU is just ever so slightly more dominant over Mizzou than Mizzou is over Arkansas. This .017 shortfall gets fixed in 2024.

Best 0-18 conference team ever.

If adding Clemson and FSU would mean more money for each of the teams in the SEC, the SEC will add teams.

If it's the same money or less they won't.

Exactly right, the invisible hand of Adam Smith is finally at work.

We've had a century of inefficiency with desolate states like Oklahoma and Kansas getting 2 power conference paychecks. Now the market is finally correcting it and all you hear is crying from the teams that have had a century on the gravy train.

There really is no reason for the SEC and Big Ten to leave the NCAA

Money. Why give the other conference teams more than they deserve? An SEC B1G only championship would get great TV ratings.

I'd rather see the other conferences included, but only if they understand their value and accept the cold harsh reality

state legislature has already got involved

I don't think the legislature is going to prevent UNC from making an extra 40 million per year if nc state can make about what it does now in big 12.
Seems more imminent to me. ESPN threatening FSU with felony charges. Option expiring in next couple years. Lots of unhappy campers being so far behind. Something big is breaking in next year.

Missouri

Removing Mizzou or replacing them with UVA would give the piggies a little better chance of getting bowl eligible most years. I see your point.

We can’t just be a football focused conference

We could.

But even though those other sports don't matter much monetarily, I'm guessing the decision makers do assign some value to them. And I agree they should. It's just a matter of how much.
Although cable is clearly declining, the sec network still makes a nice chunk of change. And it can't charge more for a new team in a state already covered.

Also, streaming is moving back to cable bundle model. So we'll see what happens there.

Saying geography doesn't matter is false. It matters less than it did, but could increase in importance in future.
Yep, that opens another can of worms though each being in a state already covered. That's why I wanted to ignore those 2. I think Fla St would be a money making add, not sure about Clemson.

And don't be naive. This is all about making more money for the existing sec teams.
