One of the funniest things about this coaching cycle is constantly refreshing X and seeing how much every SEC fanbase absolutely despises the idea of Drinkwitz being their head coach. Granted I haven’t watched any Missouri football because, well, it’s Missouri football, but is he really that bad? It seems like he’s done a good job stabilizing and winning at a perennial middle of the road job. I know numbers don’t always tell the whole story, so what am I missing chat? Is it all a smokescreen to keep the big boys from poaching him? Anyway, I’ll hang up and listen. Drink to the Sip.

Overall, he's been good. The biggest criticism of him is that he's come up short in big games. But Mizzou's football program was a mess when he inherited it, and he has certainly turned things around. Even if he doesn't have a bunch of statement wins, he's beating the teams that we should beat, recruiting well, and has built a good culture. We're happy with him. If other programs don't want him, that's fine by us.

We like him but the yearly song and dance of flirting is getting old. Happy to keep him but if he wants more $ then he needs more wins.

The good: He’s a decent coach who focuses on ball control and has good clock management. Doesn’t make stupid mistakes. Beats equal and inferior foes.

The bad: He is a jerk who deflects blame. He says embarrassing sh*t (it’s okay to not make the playoffs, he doesn’t have enough resources, etc). He’s too loyal to underperforming staff. He constantly flirts with leaving.

I’m okay if he stays.

I’m happier if he leaves. There will be no tears here.

I don’t think he’s a good person, and I don’t think he can elevate Mizzou further.

He's a good coach and has upgraded the talent big time. He has one glaring weakness....he hasn't been good at the QB position. Either it's bad evaluation recruiting or bad at developing one it's the reason his record is bad against top teams. If he stays at Mizzou he's gotta fix that and I think it starts with firing OC Kirby Moore.

You can't deny he did a good job building back the program after BO

They haven't beaten a ranked team since when?

He is James Franklin but Missouri has reduced standards

He’d be a bad fit at LSU or Florida.

But he’s perfect for Auburn. He’d win games and his corny, dorky shtick would fit right in on the plains.

He’d also be good for Clemson if Dabo leaves. Same reasons as Auburn. Same school really.

He’s got the nerd TikTok dance going for him. He’s perfect for Mizzou.

No one loves Eli Drinkwitz as much as Eli Drinkwitz loves himself.

And he craves attention.

He will do whatever Lane does. If Lane stays, Drink will stay. Inability to get a big time QB has been an issue, but also would think Zollers has a chance to get there. Has definitely elevated the quality of the roster, but can't quite get over the hump.

He was known as a high flying, offensive guru when we brought him in which is not the case at all. He is a ball control coach, which when it's working it's awesome, but his teams cannot get in the hole b/c always struggle to put up points against competition with a pulse. Main reason I'd hate to see him go is his recruiting though I think the importance of a coaches recruiting capabilities are diminished in the NIL world (which is why IMO it's absurd for colleges trying to pay $14MM for Lane, etc.).

I don't care.

Drink's been getting his feelings hurt because the jobs he want, can't hire him due to fan backlash.

if he’s looking for an upgrade of course he’d be a bad fit for Florida because it’s a lateral move at best and likely a downgrade from mizzou

This is ridiculous. There was literally NOTHING last year about Drink potentially leaving. Quit making stuff up.
