The CFP Committee swears that they won't punish teams for losing a conference championship, but the CFP Committee says all kinds of shite.

Who the frick really knows, but I predict that 10-3 Alabama would definitely get in over 10-2 Vanderbilt in this scenario. The head-to-head would be too strong of an argument.

The only curve ball I could see is if Bama has a complete clunker in the SECCG and loses by at least 3 touchdowns, and I really don't see that happening.

I feel like the team that won 30-14 head to head but had to play an extra game vs a top 5 team should be in, but the committee just does whatever they want

Bottom line, Bama can most likely control their destiny by winning out. Everything else is just noise.

They said that last year, but this year they said a conference championship game is just another data point.

Translation: A team can be punished for losing a conference championship game.

CFP selection committee chairman Hunter Yurachek to ESPN on a team losing a conference championship game: "The data point of a conference championship game will be just like it is in the past. It is another data point. For most teams, a 13th data point that will be used to compare them to other teams in the ranking."

In this hypothetical, how many rushing yards did Bama have in the SEC championship? According to the committee, that’s a very important data point.

Group of 5 teams
Will get in over Vanderbilt since they'll actually have ranked wins.

H2H and conference title game loss shouldnt hurt them. They 100% get in, top 2 in SEC and likely BIG will always be in the playoffs.

Maybe schedule 2 P4 teams or 1 P4 tat is decent Vandy, instead of 3 G5 and V Tech? Vandy basically pulled an Indiana but didnt go undefeated because they are in the SEC instead of the BIG

Should be vandy, but it won't. Unless they want to put them against Indiana, which would be a lot of fun.

Is this a serious question? As much as I like Vandy and would love to see them get in, Bama has H2H, same record sans CCG, and better wins.

You cannot punish a team that plays in CCG and let a team that didn't even make it in instead.

I think a 9-3 Bama Team gets in before Vandy due to Head to Head, but Miami would be the team to get in.

By that “logic”, A&M would wrap up a first round bye with a win over Texas, CCG be damned.

If you believe that, I got some…

Vandy should get in over Bama in that scenario, but my guess is neither one would.

We are capable of beating Vandy. Just saying. If we do, they're done. If y'all win, well, that's on your own.

The committee likely wont move anyone down except to move a conference championship winner up.
