I’d say yes. Way way way overrated from the start. Both the coach and QB don’t deserve to be involved in the game of football all. They should find other work in life.

Texas is the new 8&4 lol

Most of the teams except for like 2 or 3 have been disappointing. Just goes to show you shouldn't trust preseason hype or rankings.

Gotta be Penn State right?

Consolation prizes to Clemson and Texas though … with LSU certainly in the mix

I’d rank the “biggest busts” like this….

1.pennSt (preseason Top3)
2. Clemson (preseason Top5)
3. LSU (preseason Top10)
4. Texas (preseason #1)
5. Florida (preseason Top15)
6. South Carolina (preseason Top15)

-splitting hairs though… ALL of these teams have been huge high-profile disappointments this season based on preseason expectations

LSU gotta be up there. TX is at least clinging onto the slimmest chance of sneaking into playoffs

Funny thing about pre-season perception, in season reality seems to always hold sway.

Vegas had Texas as a 9.5 O/U win total. Damn if they don’t know some shite.

That and Texas still has a HC and AD.

They could still finish 9-3 and they’d arguably be the biggest bust—going from preseason #1 to eliminated from the playoffs with two weeks left in the regular season. Miami has a shout too tho.

Lots of contenders for that title, but the SEC definitely has two of them in t.u. and LSU.

Don’t know if Texas was the biggest bust team; however, I do believe Arch Manning is way over his head and struggles to complete simple passes. At times Arch looks good and at other times he looks lost. This could also be due to his protection up front. Arch is a fine young man and can only get better. Unfortunately the Horns are out of time.

I'd say Penn State.

Over the last 30 years, here are the preseason number one teams that have lost 3 games or more. If Texas can finish 9-3, win a bowl game with a final record of 10-3…it would be a good season but it looks like that result happens about 20% of the time. I think everyone agrees they were way over rated for some reason.

2024 Georgia – 11–3
2012 USC – 7–6
2011 Oklahoma – 10–3
2010 Alabama – 10–3
2008 Georgia – 10–3
1997 Penn State – 9–3

Penn State and Clemson are on line one.

Are you this stupid? Apparently so.

Well, Clemson is in the mix. #4 pre-season. 5-5 right now.

If we lost to UK and MSU yes, but at 7-3 wouldn’t say that’s the biggest bust in all cfb.

If going by the program's reaction then the three that have already fired their coach should be the biggest disappointments so far.
