Please anybody out there "steal" Drinkwitz from Missouri

Kudos to him for rescuing the program from Barry Odom and raising its level to where it is now and improving facilities. But he is not the guy to take it to the next level.
And many Missouri fans have seen guys like Elko and Cignetti, relative no-names just like Drinkwitz, accomplish far more in far less time. This was year 6, and he still has not recorded a signature win in the SEC.
So here's hoping he takes another job. His buyout if he leaves by the end of the year is $5 million, so it's far from prohibitive for another school wanting his services. On the other hand, if Missouri fires him in a month, which ain't gonna happen, he would be owed about $29 million.
If A&M and Indiana can get to the next level, so can Missouri under the right coach. He is a decent recruiter, but he is not a good game day coach.
Just this year, he and his staff cost the Tigers 2 key players in kicker Blake Craig and QB Sam Horn, who was competing with Pribula for the starter's role when he got hurt against Central Arkansas in Game 1 on one of the dumbest calls of the year. He's a pocket passer, and he was inserted in the that game for his 1st play in a wildcat formation with Pribula at his side for a run up the gut that wiped out his knee and ended his season. Big loss as Pribula got hurt later running into a goal line pile while stud RBs Hardy and Roberts go no touches in that failed goal series. So the Tigers were left with a 3rd string QB, a freshman with zero experience, to close out a must-win game at Vandy and start a must-win game vs. aTm.
And Craig also was lost for the season in that same Game 1 covering a stupid a** kickoff. Other, smart coaches give the kickoff assignment to the backups. There was also his fake punt that went nowhere against Bama in a tight game and gave Bama a short field for the decisive TD. He's not the sharpest tool in the shed.
And those are just the tip of the iceberg during his 6 years here. More to come if he stays. So please, Arkansas take your home boy home! Or any other desperate program. I've seen enough.

at comparing Drinkwitz to Saban. And I have no problem with starters on special teams, but not the skinny kicker. And Saban didn't have to worry as much about FGs as his teams scored plenty of TDs. Get real, man.
Also, Saban could stockpile 5* talent 3 deep. So he didn't have to care as much about injuries on STs. So again, don't compare blueberries with cantaloupes.

Our next coach could just as easily be a Fuentes or Fickell (hyped up failure). Or Willie Taggart
Lots of bad coaches out there and Drink isn’t one of them. Lots of big name programs looking for coaches this year, the expectations change when your kicker and 2 quarterbacks get hurt.

We were thinking about doing it if Kiffin didn't come here but I think they backed off that idea due to the fans.

Coaching is huge piece, But NIL and portal are another.

Jimbo couldn't do it with all the money in the world and top recruiting classes. Elko came out of nowhere, not from a title at another school.

What if Missouri isn’t going to the “next level”?
What if 10-3 with 3 SEC losses to top 15 teams and a bowl win is the ceiling?
Not trying to run down Mizzou, but the fact that Drink may get “poached” tells me this may be the hard truth.

His main weakness is OC. At first he wouldn't hire one, then he was kind of forced to, now he can't find a good one. If he ever get's a good one he might go to the next level, and then get poached

It’s not all about having the money to recruit and coaching. It’s also how the coach fit in the school’s culture. Elko fit in A&M’s culture like a glove. The same goes for Cignetti at Indiana.
