Are they in the running to be considered one of the worst all time?
Their point totals in eight games:
17 - Win
42 - Win
14 - Loss
10 - Loss
10 - Loss
0 - Loss
0 - Loss
7 - Loss
100 total points (12.5 PPG) while giving up 191 points through 8 games.
Remaining schedule:
vs. Washington
at Indiana
vs. Illinois
at Minnesota
Fickell is returning.

They can’t afford to fire him. He needs better assistants and position coaches. They are in a bad spot. Great fanbase. But Fickell was saved by having Marcus Freeman and Denbrock as his assistants at Cincinnati

Check Oklahoma State. I think they are worse.

I’ll never understand why they took our terrible offensive coordinator from last year Jeff Grimes.

Wisconsin was one of the more consistent programs. For a long time

I really liked the Fickell hire at the time too

My school should’ve been example A of what not to do.
Blowing up those fundamental things you could hang your hat on (running the damn ball, nasty physical offensive lines and defense) for decades and instead getting all caught up in the bells and whistles of fun and gun offense, passes flying everywhere and thinking you’re gonna compete with the Alabamas, Georgias and Ohio States of the world in continually attracting 4 and 5-star skill level athletes to come play for you year in and year out.
And I’ll be damned if Wisconsin didn’t go ahead and do the same thing, blow it all up and getting away from the system that had been their bread and butter.
Those who don’t learn from history….
Maybe Wisconsin will eventually figure it out and get back to a system that is proven for them. Goodness knows, we’ve never quite figured it out again in Lincoln.

I think Wisconsin is smartly retaining their head coach. Yes they are having a rough season. But stability and having a bit of patience to ride out a bad season is much better than all the knee jerk reactions that happen here in the SEC where teams change coaches faster and more often than Zsa Zsa Gabor changed husbands.
In the long run they will be better off.
In the long run they will be better off.

Do they even have an OC? Seems like the offensive players could just do it themselves and put up similar scores.

Holy crap.
Cumberland has been vindicated.

Pretty sure I read Wisconsin was last in the big 10 increasing their football budget compared to the rest of the conference since 2005. Not to say they should be complete arse, but it’s not the same playing field previous Wisconsin coaches had.

Not even close
Nobody tops 2015 Kansas
Averaged 15ppg on offense, but allowed 46ppg on defense. Finished 0-12

I remember when they came out of nowhere in 1993 to win the big 10.

Apparently Fickell is a real a-hole and everyone in the building hates him. They are screwed for a long time. Feel bad for them because it’s a great fanbase.
