Besides possibly Lane, what legitimate coaching candidates are there for these good jobs?

Drink is probably in line for either LSU or UF - it won’t be sexy but he’d be solid…. Basically the Elko of 2025.

Franklin is probably best after Lane and that's hiring a younger Kelly basically.

I don’t know that Drink gets yall or Glorida any better than Kelly did. If DeBoer left this year I’d want Alabama to make a Summerall type hire and save money for players.

There are definitely gonna be some disappointed fans. This current crop of coaches is very weak. All the top guys (Kirby, Day, DeBoer, Lanning, Cignetti, Elko) are not going anywhere. It's going to be brutal when reality comes crashing down.

Some coordinators went to the NFL over the past few years. Maybe some of those guys come back for head coaching gigs. Is Cignetti hot enough his assistants start getting poached? Anyone still want Glen Schumann? Please?

If PSU calls, you answer the phone. That’s for damn sure.

Bet Tom Hermann is wishing he'd done the Saban rehab tour about now.

I agree, but schools are stupid and AD’s want to make their mark so they’ll find a shiny new object to make the fans happy for an off season or two like LSU did with Kelly. Then it will be rinse and repeat.

The real question is who got it right lately? Ohio St with Day, UGA with Kirby, Bama with Saban, and Ole Miss with Kiffen.

Who didn’t? UF with Napier, OU with Venables, LSU with Kelly, Michigan with Moore, PSU with Franklin, Miami with Cristobal, FSU with Norvell, Auburn with everyone except Pearl.

Bottom line, most are hoping for a Smart but end up with a Goff.

Out of the available jobs, LSU gets first pick.

Penn State would be a close second.

Smart choice. Easier path to CFP in B1G. Not too much of a pressure cooker like LSU or UF.

I'm surprised Joey Mcguire of Texas Tech hasn't been mentioned good coach, had the # 1 Portal class this year has had proven success building Tech has beaten OU and Texas.

Florida is a much better job then PSU ....it is not even close. You can titles at places like UF and LSU, PSU.....hasn't happened in an insanely long time so is probably hard as hell.

Predictions:

Drink- Florida
Sumrall- LSU
Kiffin- stays at Ole Miss
Arkansas- some p4 Coordinator

Auburn stuck with Freeze...next season will be like going to a family Thanksgiving with your spouse after filing for a divorce...depressing and awkward.

That autistic arse coach is already at his ceiling. Doesn’t matter if he goes to LSU or Florida he will still win roughly the same as he does at Mizzou. He’s Dan Mullen 2.0.
