Looking ahead... (sunshine pumping engaged)

I choose to be positive today. Why? I'm not sure. Don't ask.
Kentucky? Winnable
Mercer? Win
Vanderbilt? Possible
Alabama? Unlikely
Vanderbilt has beaten bad teams like Charleston Southern, Virginia Tech, Georgie State and Utah State. They beat South Carolina who ended up being way overrated and while they lost their QB early on. They beat LSU who, also, is very overrated. They barely beat Mizzou who Auburn took into OT. They lost to Alabama. What am I missing here? It's in Nashville, DP has Hugh Freeze's number, but maybe we can gut out a win here. Our defense gives us a chance against anyone, IMO.
Alabama is unlikely, sure, but it's at JHS. the 1% chance we have might have some leftover voodoo. I doubt it, though.
Mercer is an easy win.
Kentucky is arse. It should be a win.
Win 2 games above and you're going to a bowl. Somehow manage to win 3 of these games, and you're 7-5 with a bowl birth and possible 8 win chance.

Would that buy freeze another year? If so, I wish we’d go ahead and fire him so we aren’t in that position

Vandy is probably gonna be like a touchdown favorite to beat us. I think we split the remaining.
Hugh's coaching cost us 2 games atleast. This team should be a 8 or 9 win team easily with average coaching. It's talented enough to be a 10+ win team with good coaching.

I am miserable too.
But I dont want the season to end in November. I still like watching us play

What you are missing is that Vanderbilt is a good team. They just held Missouri to fewer points than we did. We scored just 7 points on Vanderbilt last season.
They are not just Diego Pavia. Pavia played like crap yesterday and their defense won the game,
If our offense plays like we did yesterday, we won't do anything against Vanderbilt. So you are basically asking for the defense to somehow win the game again - and I don't foresee Vanderbilt handing us the ball repeatedly with turnovers.

Mizz also lost their QB. Not discounting Vandy being good, but it should be a defensive struggle that could go either way

Thank you for the positivity! Here is my take fwiw
Kentucky is a likely win. Our defense needs to continue to play well and we should try not to turn the ball over.
Vanderbilt is unlikely in my opinion. They are not a weak sister team anymore and they played Auburn hard even when they were.
Mercer is a win.
Alabama is highly unlikely. The refs will favor them. We currently don't have enough going on offense to make winning likely. Our defense is a strength but I am not sure it is enough.
We should make it to a bowl but it will be a shitty one. Hopefully we will face a shitty opponent and get another win.

I’m hoping for the Gator Bowl for selfish reasons (it’s in Jacksonville). If that happens, I’d like to meet up with whoever from the board that comes.

With our defense, they’re all winnable (just like the 4 we lost). I’m going to say 3-1 down the stretch.

The D plus 9 field goals can do it...

They beat a Mizzou team that lost its QB to injury. They likely lose if not for that.
The other sunshine worth pumping is that it looks like McPherson might really, finally be back. He looked healthier than he has this season, and the kicks showed it.
Now, before anyone else makes fun of FGs, I'd like to point out that FGs were the difference yesterday in Offensive Genius Lane Kiffen's W at OU. They kicked four. Without them, they lose there too. FTR, we missed one there and likely made some risky plays because we had no confidence in kicking another FG or two.

Zollers was better than Pribula, that actually helped them more than anything. Zollers was a threat to throw downfield.
As far as the rest of the way goes, our defense will keep us in every game we play, but our crap offense will probably keep us from having a chance against Vandy and Bama.
We shut down Pavia last year and their offense, but still managed to lose 17-7. I can see a similar result this time.

Strong logic. The backup that came in played better than Pribula did.
Pribula: 17.6 QBR
Zollers: 93.5 QBR

IDK that QBR is an entirely valid comparison here. By the time Zollers came in, they had to pass.

You clearly didn't watch the game if you think Pribula was better than Zollers. Honestly the 3-4 times I've watched Mizzou this year Pribula was the weak link due to his lack of downfield passing. Their running game is stout.

I don't think Cohen is blind (to what he's seeing on the field) or deaf (to the fanbase). At least I hope he isn't.
Unless they suddenly start playing like the best team in the SEC in all facets of the game, seems increasingly likely that Hugh will finish the season and take a medical retirement.

Hugh: Just about to turn the corner on this thing y’all.
