Winning titles was always the exception rather than the rule at LSU.
As Matt Moscona said last night when people were trolling him with "LSU is burning" after his "Bama is Burning" troll last year...he said, "LSU isn't burning because this is what LSU is...an 8.5 win, on average, team that pops a big season once a decade."
That revealed a truth that many can't argue with.

No it’s not a joke. We won 10 games a year with Les and put together the greatest team ever under O and they each won titles directly after Saban. Anyone could win titles here. Problem is we don’t have our built in advantages we did pre-NIL era now that everyone can just buy the players from in-state. Just have to accept that each and every year will be a crap shoot in the SEC now with all the parity in the league and revenue sharing. CBK is not a players coach which is the bare minimum you need to be when all the talent is equal amongst the upper echelons of the SEC. Hell Vandy is better than the rest of us and they don’t have the talent, just the competence and want that is missing from CBKs stuck up arse

Forfeited because of napkin signature. Gene was a flash in the pan. Point was lsu hired 3 straight head coaches that covered 20 years and each won a national title. Something Alabama couldn’t even accomplish.
