There are 7 teams in the SEC with 1 or 0 losses.
Texas A&M (3rd in AP, 7-0) - Quality win over Notre Dame
Alabama (4th in AP, 6-1) - Loss to Florida State, quality wins over Georgia, Missouri, Vanderbilt, and Tennessee
Georgia (5th in AP, 6-1) - Loss to Alabama, quality wins over Ole Miss and Tennessee
Ole Miss (8th in AP, 6-1) - Loss to Georgia, quality win over...LSU?
Vanderbilt (10th in AP, 6-1) - Loss to Alabama, quality win over...LSU?
Oklahoma (13th in AP, 6-1) - Loss to texas, quality win over...Michigan?
Missouri (15th in AP, 6-1) - Loss to Alabama, no quality win.
I understand the case for Bama being good. They've won 4 consecutive ranked match ups. What I don't get is the love for Georgia and Ole Miss while A&M is unanimously considered untested. What has Ole Miss proved? And by extension, what has Georgia proved by beating them? Bama is the only team that has truly been tested and shown to be great in this league. Recency bias will forgive their week 1 loss to FSU.

I've watched every team in the SEC play and there's no "great" team in his conference this year. There are a lot of "very good" teams that on any given Saturday could beat anyone, but I just don't see a "great" team in the conference. They all have obvious weaknesses.

Beaten Tennessee on the road?

Its all going to take care of itself.
Two knockout games this weekend with Ole Miss-Oklahoma and Missouri-Vanderbilt
The losers will have no room for error the rest of the season. Along with Texas and LSU, they will have to finish the season perfect to be considered for the playoff. There appears to be a pretty good chance that the Tennessee-Vanderbilt game could be for a playoff spot.

A&M can still go 8-4. It's not like late season collapses are unheard of with Texas A&M football teams going on for about 15 years now.
Until proven otherwise, Aggies should just not run our mouths. We came very close to losing to Arky, and got lucky with the win over ND. Maybe the luck runs out at Tiger Stadium this week...

Ole Miss and Georgia have more sexy than A&M

A lot of people throw in a historical bias (probably without realizing it). For example, Georgia has had a great run over the last several years, so people expect them to continue. Take A&M who has relatively done little the last decade beside some upsets. Most people will assume we will falter at some point because historically, we have.
You are what you are until you aren’t. The biases I mentioned above will either be confirmed or blown up at the end of the season, but it is assumed each team will gravitate towards their mean.

Only if you just like the names. A&M has a balanced but fun to watch offense with multiple electric playmakers and a mobile QB and a defense that gets to the QB. Of course they have had some inconsistencies but they also have managed to stay undefeated which no one else in the SEC can claim. It's an objectively fun team to watch.

How is 2 loss Tennessee with no quality wins considered a quality win but LSU has ??? I mean I agree lsu sucks but based on metrics those are comparable wins.

Why is Notre Dame a quality win when LSU isn't?

Sadly, LSU can't be considered a quality win.

FSU is now a terrible loss. Bama is playing the best ball of anyone in the SEC right now but are due for another bad loss.

How is Notre Dame a quality win, when Notre Dame has no quality wins?
Alabama clearly has the best resume of quality wins, even though they have one of the worst losses. I think being game 1 excuses that a bit.

If by "great" you mean one of the Saban NC teams I agree.
But Bama has quality wins; Georgia impressed the hell out of me w comeback over Ole Miss.
Aggy seems like most balanced team to me in college football. I didn't see Arkansas game though so maybe defense has a few leaks? Dunno but they've looked solid in the games I've seen.
I think any of these 3 could play w/ and have a solid shot against Ohio State.
