Does Vandy have staying power

When Diego leaves, does Kill stay, and will they continue to be a threat? Is it the head coach, or was it that particular infusion of player and coach?

Depends on their NIL game honestly. They have shown they can get good football players so can they continue to attract croots and transfers? Yes but it will be up to their coach and AD

Diego has four more years of eligibility. Pretty sure.

With Clark Lea I think so. Now they might not be this good every year but they won’t be a door mat every year either.

No, Once Pavia leaves they'll be Vandy again. But I sure wish they would since they will be playing auburn as a perm rival.

Look what happened a year ago. Don't be surprised if Vandy starts losing once again.

Probably not
They don’t have the fan support of other big time programs

Don’t think so. Their recruiting is still bad, and it would rely on all portal hits

Watch their defense and tell me they dont.
Those guys actually believe in their program. They are a good football team.
They will attract another top QB next season in portal.

I would argue that in the NIL era, they have as much staying power as anybody. That's an alumni base that can throw some serious cash around. Just watch, schools like Vandy, Northwestern, and Duke are going to continue to improve in this new world. I've become convinced that Duke is a far more attractive expansion target than it would have been just a few years ago. Revenge of the Nerds.

Vandy's academic faculty used to have considerable sway which limited athletic success. Things like mandating high test scores, limiting early enrollees, limiting spring transfers, and limiting few grad transfers (with a very drawn-out review process that most transfers would take another school's offer before seeing finalized) limited Vandy's ability to get in competitve talent. A lot of those restrictions have been severely reduced, which has made it easier for Vandy to get that talent.
I still think there's a way to go culture wise, but the new administration is very pro atheltics and a ton of money/time has been pouring into facilities and updating processes to make it easier for the football team. If we keep winning, the money will be there.
Will we be CFP competitive every year? Probably not, but I think we can start to see Vandy being bowl bound yearly, and then once every few years we get the right amount of talent to make a big push.
I would expect Clark Lea to stay at Vandy, and use his leverage to force Vandy to continue to upgrade facilties, coaching salaries, and proccesses that will make it better for the football team.

Not to mention that donor base as buku money, and yeah those boys believe in that coach very much .

Vandy has a shite ton of money.
That and a good coach can make you competitive in NIL...as long as you get players.

After Pavia I think they can stay in that 7-8 win window more times than not, With as many 9+ win seasons as under 6. Pretty much where Franklin had them.

Chalk me up as a Clark Lea non-believer. He was on the verge of being fired when he brought in Jerry Kill, and then things suddenly turned around. I'll wait to see how he does after Kill is gone before drinking the Kool-aid.

Yes to both. Lea will probably get lured elsewhere in the off season and Vandy will start over.

If they can keep the coaching staff intact, they will continue to produce a competitive team. Think the best Franklin years. Good bowl game, ruin a couple of other teams' seasons. Occasional big upset.

Kill will be there next year.
After that, I assume he will decide on whether he can see himself continuing against his health conditions.
