I would have never guessed Jackson Arnold coached by Hugh Freeze.

A few years ago I would have never guessed. But the last couple, I've come to expect it.

All Auburn could see when they looked at Jackson Arnold was that he beat Alabama. All of his other issues/struggles as a QB went by the wayside.

Arnold would be a pretty good QB, if he knew how to throw a football.

Some here tried to warn Auburn fans before the season.

He would still hold it until he got sacked even if he knew how to throw.

It's the same reason they hired Freeze. He had beat Saban a decade ago and that's all that mattered.

With no interceptions (unless he threw one last night)

Indicates complete ineptitude

It's what they base everything on, football wise. If you can't get to a bowl or the CFP or have a winning record, no worries. Just beat Bama and all is well.

In Arnold's defense: Bo Nix sucked at Auburn, became a Heisman contender once he left.

The problem is probably Auburn. Who's the last QB they actually developed? It's gotta be pre-Cam Newton (they didn't develop him).

When 18/30 for 207 0 TD's 1 INT and 5 sacks is considered playing well for your QB, that's gotta be rough.

Arnold got his first start at OU against Arizona as a true freshman in the bowl game. And he threw for a bunch of yards...

OU fans were ready to anoint him as a Heisman candidate and thought he would be a significant upgrade over Dillon Gabriel...

I don't think he has ever come close to throwing for that many yards in the season and a half since then.

Or when to throw it too...
