Greetings, everyone!
Making this list is oddly difficult because when Alabama's been good, they've been REAL good which makes it hard to determine the level of the opposing teams. But here's a best effort. Please discuss and/or add to the list:
Penn State, 1979
Ohio State, 2021
Miami, 1993
Texas, 2010

2009 Florida and 2011 LSU need to be on the list. 2021 and 2023 UGA might could be there as well.

I'd lean 2011 LSU
2009 Florida were the defending champs and had a lot of talent on both sides of the ball, but they played several close games that season
2011 LSU blasted everyone, except us

I’d say a toss up between 2011 LSU and 1992 Miami

2009 UF is right there due to Heisman level QB play, something the other two schools really can’t claim.
UF wasn't as all time elite on defense but had NFL guys all over that defense to go with Harvin, Hernandez and other NFL skill guys on offense surrounding Tebow who is one of the best SEC QBs of all time.

The only game Florida played that year before playing Bama that wasn't a double digit win was against Arkansas.

IMO, it would be either 2009 Florida or 1992 Miami. No disrespect to many other great teams, jmo!

2011 LsU. People argue about 2019 LSU and 2020 Alabama but neither of those teams could have beat the defenses of their counterpart from 2011. Ye short offenses were better but the defenses of both teams weren’t even close.

09 Florida. Beating that 2021 UGA team in SEC title game is often overlooked though. Went up against the best defense of this modern era and they knew we couldn't run the ball because B-rib was playing on one leg and Sanders was a shell of himself after the wreck. Bryce Young ran for his life start to finish and still lit them up.

Hard for me to judge the ones before my time but:
1. 2011 LSU
2. 2009 Florida
3. 1992 Miami
4. 2021 UGA
5. 2015 Clemson
1. 2011 LSU
2. 2009 Florida
3. 1992 Miami
4. 2021 UGA
5. 2015 Clemson

One team that hasn't been mentioned is 2012 Georgia. They would have won the title if they win the SEC championship game. In the Saban era, I'd say they were on par with 2009 UF, but not quite as good as 2011 LSU.

7 win team. 2024 Ohio State wasn't good either, btw

2011 LSU. That game of the century was stacked 4 deep with NFL talent.

92-93 Miami was considered by many, unbeatable. Very dominant on both sides of the ball. Heisman winner at quarterback Geno Torretta.
Second I’d say 2009 Florida. They were also very good on both sides of the ball and were led by what many people thought was the best college football player of all time in Tim Tebow.
3rd I’d say 2011 LSU. Many people considered their defense the best in the country. Not great offensively though. That’s why I’d have the other 2 ahead of them

Same. 2011 Alabama/LSU is the closest thing to an NFL defense college football has ever seen. I don't think this is true of any other complete unit either.
It's just incredible, and unfortunate, it happened to both of us in the same year. If we stagger those teams by a few years, no one would consider 2020 Alabama or 2019 LSU the greatest imo
