I wonder if Grubb is the secret sauce that made Deboer.

If so, it puts us in a bit of a predicament.

He's a hell of a play caller

I don't think we're really calling too much different than last year if you removed the QB run game elements. Our quarterback is just throwing it where the play dictates v. the defense.

What I appreciate from Grubb was him not falling victim to what got him chased out of Seattle and to Tuscaloosa. He stayed committed to the 2-3 yard gains from handoffs despite our longest runs being a lateral to our LT and a QB scramble.

Perhaps Grubb has a bit better playcalling feel than Sheridan but Grubb is calling plays for an athletic quarterback while Sheridan was calling plays for an athlete playing quarterback.

It was tough sledding against that UGA front seven. We weren’t going to get much there…. But glad to see them disciplined in calling the run as it was opening up the pass

He is very good. Although, his trying to force the run in the 3rd to get ahead of UGA adjustments was frustrating. UgA is soft on the backend and Ty was locked in. Wish they would have kept attacking until UGA stopped it.

I felt like UGA didn't respect Ty and his ability to throw the ball. UGA seemed to load 8 guys in the box most of the night. It was like they were daring Bama to throw the ball. Grubb called a masterful game last night.

I agree for the most part, but I also dont mind trying to control the game/clock by running. Maybe it didn't work great, but it was better than stopping the clock with incomplete passes and giving UGA more possessions.

Did you guys notice in the second half that 64 played at RT and Formby moved over to LG. I believe 77 is still not healthy

That offensive line looked good to.

I think our best five would be:
Jackson Lloyd (LT)
Kadyn Proctor (LG)
Parker Brailsford (C)
Wilkin Formby (RG)
Michael Carroll (RT)

I haven’t rewatched the game yet, but while watching last night it looked like our best OL combo was:

Proctor (LT)
Sanders (LG)
Brailsford (C)
Formby (RG)
Carroll (RT)

I don't think Proctor is going to move to guard. LT's are the big money guys in the NFL, and this is his year before going pro. Dude's going to show what he can do at the position beforehand.

That being said, I wish he would make the switch.

I think so too. Sanders, Formby, and Roberts seem to be our best at guard. And Carroll just needs to start somewhere. I don't care where. That kid can play.

Agree. Grubb should get a lot of credit but only players make plays. Milroe couldn’t see the field.

Look at Ty vsFSU. Game was moving fast. He has progressed and Milroe didn’t

Simpson was under center more times last night than all our QBs in the last 10 years. I liked that.

We actually have a QB who can read defenses

I think Ty’s football IQ is off the charts especially compared to Jalen. I mean, how many times last night did he check the play or protection? Constantly scanning the defense to learn. It was impressive last night.

Tyrone having a high IQ is just like Hurts having a high IQ. They were both coaches kids. Simpson's dad being a D1 college coach. So I'm not surprised with how smart he's played.
