was listening to him on Sirius this morning and he spoke with team sources that said after yesterday they expect him back for Texas in 16 days.

Huge win for OU. Get a bye and then Kent St, arguably the worst team in D1.

He pointed out two other college QBs had the same surgery in the last year and both only missed 1 week.

Looks like he will be back to being the Heisman favorite after they destroy Texas.

Venebles trying his hardest to confuse people what to prepare for, one of these has to be true

1. he's lying about him being hurt or how hurt
2. he's playing him too soon and putting him at risk for more severe injury
3. he has no plans to playing Mateer but wants Texas to plan for it instead of Hawkins

edit: 4. Peter Nakos is full of crap
edit: 5. OP is full of crap

Too many examples of players returning in 2-3. He’s got that Baker in him and won’t want to sit

I think it’s 70/30 he plays at Red River

Because it is beyond comprehension that Mateer could actually be operated on to repair his thumb and be healed enough to be able to play?

Got it.

Say what you want about Texas offense - but Texas defense is not exactly an ideal situation for a healing QB

dallastiger55, why do you have LSU flair when you’re constantly talking about OU?

Mateer beat AU while injured. I'm pretty certain he is plenty tough

John Mateer is a mobile QB with play-making abilities out of the pocket. He has hit on his share of deep throws. Michael Hawkins is a less polished version of this description.

I don't see how it matters for Pete Kwiakowski, the Texas DC. You prepare much the same for both quarterbacks IMO.

Seriously. Change your affiliation with Oklahoma. All you post is Oklahoma crap. You never post anything about lsu. You’re always slurping Ou. Jesus Christ come up for air twink.

He will be 100% for Texas. 0% chance he sits

Agree on both points. TBH if Mateer is still iffy, I'd rather him sit unless Hawkins starts stinking it up.

Exactly.

The next two weeks he will be sitting around banging his sister.

No practice, no throwing...he is going to be rusty.

He broke a finger not his leg. He will be practicing with a soft cast. He’ll be ready.

How do Texas fans think they will score against OU?

Yeah, that's reasonable. I meant either of us would hate to lose this game because it is the RRS, but OU has more margin than Texas does since Texas already lost to Ohio State. OU can lose and still have a respectable change of making the playoffs. A two-loss Texas has NO margin at all for the rest of the season.
