This was 1998 I think. LSU spanked Florida the year before, and Spurrier practiced some gamesmanship by wanting to wear white jerseys at home the next year. I think the rule was still that visiting team had to agree, which of course LSU was fine with because, hey, quid pro quo.

But, DiNardo and LSU were still in a phase where they avoiding wearing the purple jerseys because, I guess, it was forced upon us in the 80s. So, he comes up with this heinous crap mustard uniform.

When was the last time LSU wore purple? They've had one uni for years.

Last year.

I think they wore alternates more than the classic yellow/white/yellow last year.

I mean the basics, purple jersey with standard yellow helmet and standard yellow pants, the last time they wore that?

Is that a somewhat recent phenomenon? I thought they banished the yellow, purple, yellow combo for years because they thought the yellow, white, yellow combo had them playing their best, wearing white jerseys on the road and at home for years. It seems to me the Gators haven't played them in purple since like the early 00's.

Purple and "gold." They are the same color as a bottle of French's mustard.

The funny thing is, those weren’t even our worst DiNardo era gold jersey. This was.

Now this one on the other hand, I actually kind of like.

I wish that we would go back to the black cleats again.
