Has NIL killed Alabama?

It just doesn’t seem to be a major market for high profile players anymore…outside of car dealerships that had their run before NIL..
The first few years after Saban were critical and that foundation has already crumbled it seems. What’s next?

We are shutting down the football program and focusing on women's field hockey

Yes they are now tier 2 or tier 3.

Saban was their brand. Without him they have no brand or identity. That’s important to college kids looking for their spot to go.

Bama can’t recover from this. Not in the NIL era. Queue up the NIL excuses.
Because that’s what is coming the next ten years.
And fine by me. They will have to find something else besides college football to live vicariously through.
They. Are. Done.

Nah, it's the money. NIL and unfettered transfer ability has ruined CFB. But, thank goodness ESPN is making millions.

Bama has rich boosters who can buy a roster 100%.
But DeBoer is creating a bad culture, so you can buy big talent but it won’t matter as much bc the coach isn’t maintaining a standard

I think it was Saban retiring, nil doesn’t seem to be hurting Georgia.
I think most folks knew that, judging by history, bama would struggle after a legend left no matter who they brought in.
This guy just happens to be the whipping boy this time.

The Saban dynasty is probably the last you will see in college football anywhere unless something is done soon.
It’s not just Bama. I can see where it has really affected Georgia just as bad. Georgia and Bama were miles ahead of everyone else and then NIL started pumping all the talent foundation out of both schools. All this while both schools fed the NFL draft plenty of Juniors that could have come back.

NIL killed college football... or at least put it in a brain dead coma.
Maybe it changes with enough no talent hacks like Arch getting massive paydays, but for now it is on life support.

Doesn’t bama have a top 3 recruiting class at moment.

Not really.
I saw a lot of elite talent just going through the motions yesterday for Bama. That elite talent didn’t play inspired football.
Bama went from having a coach that demanded execution perfection every day to a coach that while may be very intelligent, just doesn’t seem to push his players.

Bama has two 4 star qb’s committed and a freshman 5 star who may start playing sooner rather than later.

You nailed it. The coaches are not demanding it and Bama lacks the superstars like a Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, or even a Tim Tebow that provides the leadership by example on the field.
