We are in new era of cfb. Not only is there no Nick Saban out there...there is no feasible scenario in which you can stockpile talent like we did in Saban years.

If you did somehow stockpile the talent....theyd just transfer away. Caleb Downs, absolutely would have been a game changer for us. When did Saban ever lose a Caleb Downs?

Sometimes good teams at home have exceptional games. What exceptional plays did we have...none. We WILL have those games and those plays this season.

Its a LONG season. I remember the Ole Miss losses. I remember the Texas loss. All those seasons...ended up with championships.

Im still optimistic

Sure. What I saw didn't make me think we were a few fixes from being a championship caliber team. However, I cannot dispute your point in concept. We could go 11-1. Who knows what will happen in the next 3 months.

There is no Nick Saban out there but there are plenty of coaches out there who could go better than 9-5 with four losses to unranked teams with the talent we have. Alabama doesn't have the best coach we could have right now and that should bother all of us.

For the downvoters:

The coaches we considered other than DeBoer:

-Sark: shite the bed last season when it mattered...just got shut down(twice in a row) by Ohio St)

-Lanning: young, has proven nothing. Demoralized by Ohio St

-Kiffin: won absolutely nothing...lost to Kentucky last season

We did not consider Kiffin (to our detriment IMO) at all. He was black balled by the powers that be at Alabama.

We have a veteran talented team.

We just have a shitty DC, poor OL and a QB who can't win us a game.

To that point, even Saban had first games where we were completely dysfunctional. Virginia Tech comes to mind.

What we saw today though is definitely far from inspiring.

We have a team full of prima Donna’s who only care about NIL deals. Granted, that’s everywhere in college sports now. But, we aren’t getting the ROI that other programs are getting now. I was willing to give DeBoer a pass for last year and be positive about this year. But this game today has confirmed that he is clearly not the man to lead us back to championship contention.

Today is the absolute most stunned and disgusted that I have felt since the Shula years. Perhaps that last Dubos year.

The 2015 loss to Ole Miss was a complete fluke and the 2023 loss to Texas was almost all on Milroe, so those were easier to come back from. Alabama was physically dominated today. It's tough for me to see them resuscitating the offensive and defensive lines we saw.

At least with 2015 Ole Miss we had the best RB in Alabama history to lean on the rest of the way. We also had the GOAT on the sideline and Kirby coaching our defense.

As I was reading your post I said to myself, finally a level headed opinion on this board. Then I said it’s probably getting downvoted. I was correct. But I appreciate your positivity and I don’t necessarily disagree. We as fans immediately want to point out all of the flaws we had as a team today, and there were plenty. But honestly, Florida State played pretty good football today. There’s probably not many teams around that would’ve left that stadium with a win today.

Dude go find a hobby. It’s sad that because your team didn’t win today that you want to attack a group of young men’s characters. You should be embarrassed

Yes! FSU would win the NFC south. I expect them to run the table and win the NC. Deboer is actually underpaid and don’t get me started on Wommack. We need to extend his contract before another school steals him. Can’t wait til next week! RTR!

They’re professionals, now. They’ve earned whatever is said about them. Criticism is now valid whether you like it or not and they can no longer hide behind being nice young men for whom football is merely a hobby in which they participate to help pay for their education.

That shite ended. Someone should have told you.

I guess a hit dog hollers. Bunch of embarrassing drunken losers on this board tonight. I want the team to win too, but I’m not going to call them a bunch of punks and thugs because they didn’t win a football game. Idiot
