The ESPN thread about 9 SEC games got me thinking about the “3+6” model.

What would be your choice for your school’s 3 permanent rivals, ranked by intensity?

The first, and maybe second, are fairly easy for most. I’m not sure how some would decide the 3rd, though.

For A&M, I would say:

1) Texas
2) LSU
3) Arky

LSU beats out Arky mostly on recency and recruiting.

For LSU:

Ole Miss
Arkansas (Golden Boot, duh)
Toss up between Florida/Auburn

nice work. If history comes into play then SC would be UGA's 3rd and not Kentucky. Kentucky would instead go with Tennessee.

For Texas I would love it to be:
OU
ATM
LSU

No reason for Arky. LSU would be much more fun for a new generation

Yeah, I get the argument for Tennessee to play Kentucky, but it's not very balanced if you let them play Vanderbilt and Kentucky each year.

Tennessee > Vanderbilt, Kentucky + Alabama

Alabama > Tennessee, Auburn, LSU/Miss State

It makes no difference to me at the end of the day, but people bitch and complain about schedules so much in every damn sport.. but at the end of the day, good teams should be able to beat whoever is on their schedule.. and if you aren't good enough, then people start bitching..

that was kind of the minor offshoot from the maint point that SC needs to play UGA.

UGA is undoubtedly SC's biggest and longest standing SEC opponent. They have played us over 30 more times than the next most often SEC opponent, and we are their 2nd most played team ever only behind clemson.

For Auburn:

1. Alabama
2. Georgia
3. Gets a bit murky here due to conference expansion impacting rivalries. Seventy years ago it was definitely Ga Tech. Fifty to sixty years ago, it would be Tennessee. Thirty to forty years ago it would be Florida. Twenty years ago it would be LSU. And to this day some AU fans would consider any one of those as our #3 rival. Others, mostly the younger crowd, might say Ole Miss.

For LSU:

The entire SEC, since you all want to steal our swag, style, recruits, and most of all our culture. We dislike all schools equally, A&M and Bama a little more, but every team in the SEC is our rival.

LSU’s:

1. Ole Piss

3. Florida

The “rivalry” with the Faggies seems forced by the SEC the last 10 years. Hell I’d put Auburn and Bama over them
