How Much Longer does Brian Kelly Get?

Les Miles - 77% Winning Percentage (2 SEC Championships, 1 National Championship) - Fired
Ed Orgeron - 72% Winning Percentage (1 SEC Championship, 1 National Championship) - Fired
Brian Kelly - 73% Winning Percentage (0 and 0 so far)
How much longer does Kelly have before he is kicked to the curb?

in this climate of sports I don't see LSU moving on from Kelly with his buyout that is in place
I don't think Kelly stays length of contract and that has more to do with the current climate of college football
he's doing fine with the roster he inherited

Tough to say without seeing it flaccid.

Probably depends on the record he has this season.

McMahon hasn't been fired, so I would guess a while.

Whether he wins a title or not, I'd be surprised if BK leaves LSU in any other manner than a retirement.

I think he gets 2 more years to make a playoff run. Most coaches unless they crater will get a pass once again this fall just due to the ongoing questions about the revenue sharing and sorting. But then 2026, if 2025 is less than stellar, will be a make or break. I can't see him getting a sixth year if 2026 doesn't produce a playoff team.

If he has three or more losses each of the next two seasons there will be immense pressure to hire a new coach.
Ultimately it depends on how the next two seasons play out.

Honestly, his 2022 team (minus the A&M debacle) was one of the most impressive and enjoyable seasons I’ve seen because that team had no business winning the SECW and way overachieved. The next two seasons we have greatly underachieved. We have to at least make the playoff this year but I’m not upset with him overall yet.

This is a huge year for Kelly. First year he’s playing with a full roster with very few holes, if any.
To compare winning % at this point is not a valid way to compare.
Les inherited an unbelievably great roster to work with right off the bat. And…. Every single poster on this board back then constantly said Les was winning with Saban’s players. Once they were all gone in 2008, we struggled for 2 years until he started recruiting at a high level. After the 2012 season, Les was very mediocre, but had a lot of talent.
Ed O had a stacked roster to work with and recruited well himself until after the 2019 season. Ed O just quit after the 2019 season and had a horrific staff to work with that couldn’t recruit worth a damn after 2019.
Kelly inherited the worst LSU roster since Dinardo in 1995. Signed a decent transfer class after the 2022 season to fill a few holes, but there were just too many holes to fill. He wasn’t given much $$ after the 2023 season and our defensive roster flat out sucked the last 2 years. LSU gave him $20 million after last season and he signed a tremendous transfer class. His last 2 recruiting classes were excellent too.
2025 is the season. If he gets to the playoffs he’s good. If he doesn’t, the seat gets very hot.

He should get at least 6 or 7 more years.

Most misleading data ever. Les was a joke! Anybody could have won given the situation Saban left him.

As long as he is in the 10 win range LSU is not going to pay for a 60 million dollar buyout.
The orgeron record is way skewed considering his first three years were promising followed by a complete meltdown.
Feels like LSU writers think this is another 9-11 win team which is disappointing, but we had two horrific recruiting classes his first two seasons and Matt House. No idea what the frick we were doing for scouting the first two years.

I'd say, if he grinds on another recruit, he's fired

Achane was on another level in that 2022 A&M/LSU game.
How Jimbo managed to only win 5 games with that roster blows my mind
