Hope the rest of the college world blackballs Nico.

There’s no collusion in college like the nfl. An example has to be made. Would be nice if he is forced to play on some shite small school team for peanuts and loses all kinds of money out of this ordeal.

Wont happen. Some coach somewhere needs him to save the coach's million dollar salary.
Wish it would, though.

Some desperate school will pony up the money. I would love nothing more than to see what you’re saying come true though.

Anyone that pays that off his 2024 performance is crazy

Absolute worst case for Nico is he spends a year at a 1-AA school next season then some coach who is on the hot seat going into 2026 will bring him in.

It would have to be very secret. It’s a free market now and collusion would be illegal. You cannot stop somebody from getting employed.

Apparently the deal was $8 mil over 4 years in 2023. I think Lagway is getting $3.8 million just for the 2026 season alone.

He’s an amateur athlete lol.

I feel bad for Nico. He probably has a fraction of that NIL money. Dad probably kept most of it and blew through it.

It takes two to tango
Tenn isn’t blameless

Any team signing him should be severely ostracized. Coaches are in one big fraternity...might want to self restrict this BS now. Any COACH signing him should be blackballed.

That is meaningless. You can wish for him to be brought to heel all you want to but a collusion case is a guaranteed loser for the schools. The courts aren’t looking at him as an amateur athlete but as just another schmuck marketing his talents. The sports connection is irrelevant.

He is a self centered frickwad who told his teammates they aren't good enough for him without actually saying it.
He'll be unpopular in any locker room he walks into from now on. Don't think his actions don't go unnoticed by his peers. Especially since his only hope of seeing play time next year is in a non-P2 conference. He will not be appreciated.

Of course there is. Where did you come up with this.

Chad, the landscape right now is that coaches are going to do what they need to do to keep employed. If somebody thinks Nico can help him, he'll sign Nico and give him some money. I think he's going to wind up somewhere.
But I don't think anybody is going to give Nico what he asked Tennessee for. And that's how it should work. Just because somebody names a price doesn't mean he's going to get it. And that isn’t collusion but people want collusion it seems to punish the players.
Again, Tennessee handled this just right: "We ain't paying that, best wishes to you."
And again, reining in the portal will fix this. Not the money, that isn't going away and fans are going to have to get over it. But Nico would never have tried to pull this s**t if he didn't have wide-open annual free agency on his side.

The only school that makes sense and would have the money to pay Nico is Wisconsin IMO
Fickell just had their first losing season in decades, and their current QB is a transfer from Maryland (who finished 2nd last in B1G)
Wisconsin looks to have one of the hardest schedules in the country to boot. I bet Fickell gets canned next year, I could see him going all in on Nico and praying Nico reaches his full potential
They play:
@ Alabama
@ Michigan
Iowa
Ohio State
@ Oregon
@ Indiana
Illinois
They are less talented than Washington and Minnesota as well

Interesting thoughts. I hope he ends up somewhere like that and plays lights out for somebody. It would add some great drama to the season.

I don't think he's good enough to save anyone's job.
That's the entire problem here, he isn't good enough to justify the asking price.

Yet Tennessee was giving him 2.4 million 3 days ago.
