Yes, they have Tre Donaldson and two 7 footers but their record isn’t that impressive for a five seed. Creighton’s Quad 1 record was better. And the game is in Atlanta giving us a quasi home game

Clunky B1G ball. Only reason they’re succeeding lately is Tre being dynamic as hell.

Look at their wins also. They are almost by one possession. Until the tournaments I don't think they had won a game by more than 3-4 points since like mid-January. This team isn't that good and we will win.

They got a forward from Yale on their team.
KT Harrell is an assistant coach

They know everything about Bruce.

I’ll be scared shitless if it’s a 1 point or tie game with them having the ball on the final possession. Tre has been delivering in that position all year.

I have an odd, unhealthy, no-reason pure hatred for everything that is Michigan.

I cant explain it. I dont want to fix it and I dont care who knows it.

So frick them and lets not go out losing to those fricking assholes.

I think they are up north. They wear blue and yellow. Their mascot is that guy they kept yelling about in that 80’s movie where Cubans take over Wyoming or some sh!t.

Had a very nice visit to Mackinac Island and the U.P. last October. Revisiting where I spent some early childhood years as a military brat.

Now there was that encounter with an old goat road rager in Niles MI several decades ago.

Watched a good chunk of their game against MSU and wasn’t really impressed. They play fast and chaotic. I think our defense can clamp down on them as long as we can prevent offensive rebounds from those 7 footers.

We haven't done a good job with this, but I'm thinking our guard play will be the difference

Fwiw… Michigan had more offensive rebounds thank A&M yesterday on fewer missed baskets.

Watch MSU and Iowa St both lose and we can't get past Michigan.

I think we do a better job of keeping the big oafs off the glass than we do the high energy bigs. I think we can hold our own on the glass against Michigan. If we run into Michigan State in the E8 I would be more worried about the offensive rebounding.

We also just put up 40 minutes of game tape of our guards making floaters and shots from range against drop coverage.. I'm interested to see if Michigan does anything creative defensively. They generally play drop coverage with Goldin.

“They know how to win close games”

Vs

“They only won by 2.”

Two sides of the same coin.

I want to see Broome take it to the bigs chest to get some foul calls.

None of that matters, if Broome keeps playing soft and can’t score more than 6 points we will lose the game.

I think we are over reacting a bit with Broome since he was battling Kalkbrenner who is a 4x defensive player of the year in the Big East.

Bruce mentioned our game plan was to seal Kalkbrenner and let the guards get to the rim. Broome seemed to do a pretty good job on that.

This. If you weren’t watching carefully for it you wouldn’t notice our bigs were constantly setting screens and seals underneath.

I was worried about that because it puts more of the onus on our guards, but they delivered.

Broome always struggles against guys bigger than him. Anyone sleeping on Michigan in this game is going to be in for an awaking on Friday. Broome. Cardwell and Chaney have to stay out of foul trouble or we are fricked. We match up good with them everywhere else.. but those 2 7 footers are going to be a problem. Wolff is really active too, so they are going to have to be disciplined. Staying out of foul trouble is is the key to winning though.

I actually disagree. I think it mostly comes down to containing Tre. If you watch the A&M game, those 7 footers were just cleaning up slop after Tre’s driving caused the defense to breakdown. They didn’t seem to be creating much at all on their own from what I saw. Really need Denver to be all up in Tre’s business disrupting.

Of course I could be totally wrong based on limited viewing of Michigan but we will see.

Also, seeing how much Tre seems to have improved was frustrating. Seemed like a much better player than what we had last year.
