this is just like Iraq does not equal we are fighting Israel’s war (unless this is an unintentional admission on your part that you think our involvement in Iraq fit this bill)
_____

We don’t need this idiotic line that Bibi has been saying for at least 20 years does not equal we are fighting Israel’s war
_____

the 22 seconds away from having a nuke bullshite has been untrue for 20+ years does not equal we are fighting Israel’s war

You are conflating tangentially related statements that do not say what you claim. Yes, they do “have a shred of bearing on the current conflict in 2026” but they, in no way, assert that we are fighting Israel’s war. To the contrary, I explicitly pointed out in my previous post the primary reason that I think we are fighting this war and it has nothing to do with Israel.

And, lastly, this is a lie:
quote:

I don't know or care about Matt Walsh…

You actually seem pretty hung up on him and what he said. You can’t resist rehashing some dumb X post by him that was shared 10 days and 166 pages ago. A post where Walsh didn’t even forcefully argue against the war and only called himself a skeptic. Get a fricking grip.
Find where I said that we are fighting Israel’s war. You can’t because I didn’t say that. Apparently you’re still salty because I pushed back on your implication that Walsh is a traitor because he’s not 100% falling in line with what right-leaning commentators are supposed to say.

But since you asked, I think the U.S. is primarily fighting for petrodollar hegemony and to isolate China.
So basically the Iranian regime needs to be completely denied access to the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman due to the aquatic drones. Including all Iranian coastline, that’s a bit over 1500 miles to patrol. For comparison, this would be like having to deny water access from Pensacola, FL to Naples, FL. And that’s just to protect against submersibles and fast boats. It does nothing to protect against aerial attacks on shipping or our Naval vessels.

It’s really hard to believe that they don’t have some plan to counter this that isn’t boots on the ground. However, it’s also rather difficult to believe that this would be allowed to happen if they did have a reliable countermeasure.
Yeah, at least a portion of ‘these people’ are called the FBI. Those frickers have been Pied Piper-ing young conservative men (and other groups) like this for a couple decades or more. And we have an epidemic of uneducated young men working dead-end jobs - if they’re working at all - that are easy to prey on.
Was listening to a Darryl Cooper podcast and he mentioned the 3 THAAD systems being blown up and I think he said we only have one left. Apparently that is making the missile defense much spottier and we’re having to use 2x as many missiles as we’re supposed to to shoot down every one incoming from Iran. Darryl worked on the AEGIS systems on ships and he was not positive at all on our current situation, especially our ability to defend allied Middle Eastern countries not named Israel.
Miss Lindsey is just realizing that the U.S. government’s goals and Israel’s goals might not be in total alignment.

Ayatollah Limpdick. This is the guy that goes to London to get treated for impotence, isn’t it?

If good journalism is perfection? You got them! Congrats on defining good journalism.

Nobody is saying good journalism is perfection. People are noting that targeting a desalinization plant is so fricking stupid that it should cause the journalist to pause and verify with quite a few sources. Someone who has experience covering war should have red flagged that immediately. Targeting civilian infrastructure is so antithetical to our mission there is no way that gets approved and anyone with two brain cells should know that.
quote:

What's the "something else"? If Walsh is no longer a political commentator for not being 100% sold on military intervention in a foreign country, what are you accusing him of being?

This is a question that still deserves an answer.
quote:

When it comes to public comments on matters of national security and geopolitics, what they say is intended to be obscure and even misleading.

Governments lie and obscure the truth is extremely insightful.

However, when you can sell something with the verifiable truth you should do it, and we clearly can in this case. Nobody believes that Iran was days away from a nuke and most who aren’t blue-haired freaks are still onboard with the ongoing military action. The fact that you feel the need to argue the other side of this is insane when there is no benefit to the lie.
quote:

Anyone expecting world leaders to give them accurate and up-to-date information about matters of war, national security, and geopolitics, has unrealistic expectations. Nobody does that; it's not the policy, ever, anywhere.

Nowhere did I say this was my expectation. I just said that the 22 seconds away from having a nuke bullshite has been untrue for 20+ years and almost certainly wasn’t the reason for this attack. I don’t really think we have to rely on bullshite tactics to sell this to the American people at this point. Iran pretty much stands in opposition to every liberal, democratic value held by Americans and has been at the center of conflict in the ME for decades.
quote:

Did I hear Hegseth say that Iran was “days away from developing a nuclear weapon?”

Not a lot of other similarities so far, but this is just like Iraq. And people react the same dumbass way when you notice, suggesting you don’t support the military operation. Most people are perfectly fine if they just say Iran had this coming for a long time and seeded conflict all across the ME. We don’t need this idiotic line that Bibi has been saying for at least 20 years to reconcile this.
quote:

The fact the men in Iran wanted them all to be covered up is reason enough to bomb them

They just couldn’t get any work done. Too many distractions so they threw a hideous sheet over them.

Oopsie! Maybe we shouldn’t have been playing footsie with those BRICS guys.
quote:

I think once it shakes out and gets back to normal they could still sell oil to Chyna. But can use it as leverage to keep them in line

While this is true, if things go as we hope, Iran should start selling oil on the open market. That means they will not sell directly to China at a 10-15% discount, as they were doing due to sanctions. And, if things go right and the right people come to power, they should be agnostic or hostile to China due to China economically supporting the repressive former regime. As much as I want this to be about America being that shining city on a hill and doing the right thing, I think this is as much about Dollar dominance and hemming in China as it is Iran itself.

ETA: for the U.S. 100% different motive for Israel, though they also benefit from U.S. motives.
quote:

Which begs the question, how do we think China will respond to us essentially doing the same thing?

LOL at the morons downvoting this. You might think they are F*cked and can’t do anything, but it’s definitely something that must be considered. That’s a ton of energy they are losing and has massive direct negative impact on China’s economy and indirect positive impact on our own. And this destroys a major player in the BRICS system which is also no small thing. Major positive for continued dollar dominance.
Those worthless turds should all be given unique, traceable copies of the SOTU to see which of them leaks it first.
Her first wish was definitely going from bartending to U.S. House Rep. Wonder if she still has the other two wishes or if there’s still a genie in the lamp in the background.
Yeah, the world needs fewer colleges that appeal to conservative trades students, have better male/female ratios and get kids thru their first two years at 1/3 (or less) of the cost of starting at a 4-year school.
Murphy came to play tonight. He was all over the place.

This gimmick defense isnt going to work against legitimate teams. Great job on breaking the four loss skid.

Sorry the team you supposedly love isn’t losing.
