It's amazing how many didn't realize this. The team coasted to the finish line while already holding the first place ribbon.
Now Bruce gets him court in Atlanta with everyone doubting his team because they lost a few exhibition games that meant absolutely nothing.

Don’t have an embarrassing exit again

This thread is very bumpable. Let’s not post stuff like this until our team proves it can make it into the 2nd weekend

You keep saying this like it's a good thing.

I also love when my team takes their foot off the gas and gets out of rhythm

You started a thread yesterday about people melting but you seem to be the only person melting.

It's tough to emotionally get up when you've been through the toughest conference in history and conquered it.
They got up all year when it mattered.
It's no different than the NBA teams locking up the #1 seed early and coasting the last few regular season games while they await the playoffs.

Congratulations
Is another 1st rd exit coming up?

This team losing in the first two rounds would be a colossal upset. They can turn on the jets when it matters. Rest easy.

NBA teams get to play series, and even then the top seeded teams always worry about rust after a layoff. But they aren't in situations where one bad night ends your season, so it is much less of a problem. Coaches have been terrified about losing momentum/focus and never being able to regain it for time immemorial. Absolutely no coach in any sport on planet earth plans or wants it.
And besides that, Auburn has been playing very good but clearly a step down from earlier elite level basketball for much longer than the Texas A&M game.
Through 2/1 (win @ Ole Miss)
20-1 (8-0)
Overall : #2 (0.9819)
Offense : #1 (1.302)
Defense : #7 (0.920)
Since 2/1
8-4 (7-3)
Overall : #4 (0.9683)
Offense : #6 (1.288)
Defense : #22 (0.956)
That's still a really good team, but it's a clear step down from the first 21 games.

Doesn't have anything to do with series or single game elimination. It's human nature to let down once you've accomplished a regular season goal. Whether that be an NBA team or a college basketball team winning the toughest conference in NCAA history. By any metric this was considered a juggernaut team shortly after they demolished Kentucky in Lexington. Two weeks prior to that they easily won in Tuscaloosa. No longer are teams going to get Auburn's B or C effort while the opposing team is going all out.

You are really worried about this aren't you

It was a really good team. It was not the clear #1A/B team in the country like it was a month earlier.
Your B/C efforts didn't just start when you clinched the SEC
- won by 5 @ Texas
- won by 3 @ South Carolina
- won by 2 @ Georgia
- won by 7 vs Arkansas
Auburn is really good and has a very legitimate chance to make the Final Four and win it all. But acting like they are just gonna flip some switch and beat the shite out of everyone in their region because now they "care again" is laughable.

Pearl's teams always seem to fall off toward the tournament. 2019 only exception.
We'll see. It's entertainment, nothing else.

No reason not to win the title, absolutely none

Losing the last 3 of 4 games was disappointing. It was a hell of league this year and knew there would be losses. Just sucks it was the last 3 of 4.

I wonder how these compared to the spread for these games.
