From some LSU fans who are witnesses we have received more than two dozen reports of individual acts of perversion SO profound and disgusting that decorum prohibits listing them here.

Come on bro really. Just give us a hint

So let me leave you with this phrase, "Jared Jones, what you done at the plate lately of note?"

Ugghhhh nothing

It’ll be close IMO. Regardless if he is or he isn’t, he’s still the best option to be playing and helping the team towards the championship. Which is all that really matters at this point. What happens after is another discussion.

Right he will play he wont be benched we can agree on that.

As far as where he is drafted really don't think he's a Top 5 rd pick i dont care what kind of potential he has.
quote:

Wow West Virginia and that elite pitching staff they had he went 4/8. First rd pick then

The discussion is not whether he is a first round pick. Pretty emotional post here.

I was being sarcastic. He's not a 1st rd pick. They said he was Top 5 rd pick. I said no way. Guess we wait and see in 30 days where he goes

Dumb take. Not every pitch we will face this week will be Root or Gaekel.

We are facing better pitching all week than West Virginia. Root and Gaekel are very good but if you are a Top 5 rd pick going into the draft striking out 5 times is unacceptable. He's going to see a lot of pitchers like Root and Gaekel in the minors then what? The ball is in Jones court now. Show me what you can do big guy.

Have they come out and announced a starter for Monday?

Jones was 4/8 last weekend

Y’all weren’t built for baseball.

You do realize that despite last night and his recent slump, he’s still hitting around .320 with 20HR and 70 or so RBI?

He’s not getting benched for any reason.

Right he wont get benched but he needs to be batting in the 6 hole.

Someone pull up his numbers in SEC play vs Non conference teams.

Someone pull up his stats for the last 6 weeks

Who do you think is their ace?

Must be Root he only threw 39 pitches so he can come back on short rest
quote:

Wow! You actually got downvoted for telling the absolute truth. Jones' average has PLUMMETED during the season. The SEC pitchers have figured the guy out and not exactly a Rubik's Cube. Almost every strikeout is on EXACTLY the same pitch! Throw the guy a curve/slider that is low and just off the outside corner of the plate and he simply can't hit it. Anyone who disagrees with that is either a relative of Jones or knows squat about baseball.

I have NEVER seen a batter strike out 5 times in a game. 4 Ks is a golden sombrero. I had to look up what 5 Ks in a game is....it is a platinum sombrero! I will say he has become a pretty darn good defensive first baseman. But as a hitter, he is deadwood in the lineup and a pitcher would look better at the plate. Once again, downvoting me or you isn't going to change the FACT!

You are correct.

He feasts on non conference opponents

He struggles against SEC pitching or good pitching in general.

Is he a good 1B defensively? Yes he is. But that wont get you drafted very high. He needs more patience at the plate. He's basically a right handed Cody Bellinger

Top 5 rd pick

Undrafted!

But he has potential

He's calling him Cooper(his first name). Not sure why? Every other pitcher in his post, he's using their last name.

Ok got it i had a brain fart for some reason

This is my speculation on our pitching strategy going forward based on Game 1.

Shores and Evans are obviously our two most trusted guys out of the pen, and they both only pitched one inning. With a day in between games, I think the plan is to keep their pitch counts low and use them both to close each game with the expectation that we have a lead late.

Game 2: Eyanson until the 7th inning, Shores 8th and Evans to close in the 9th.

Game 3: Cowan for 5 innings (with the option of Cooper/Noot to pitch an inning or two to get us to the 8th), Shores 8th, Evans to close in the 9th.

Game 4 (if necessary): Anderson again and perhaps Eyanson to close the 9th (if desperate)

For the final series: Friday (Bullpen), Saturday Eyanson, Sunday Kade

No where in this equation do you have Williams pitching
