Two games left in the season and the worst basketball team in the conference is up for grabs. South Carolina has kept their hopes of not being last alive by winning a second game against Arkansas where as LSU continues trying to survive one of the toughest stretches in the country.

The way last place works is head to head tiebreaker is in effect so in order to not be the worst team in the league South Carolina will have to pass LSU in total wins. South Carolina could get as many as four wins tying them with Oklahoma but one of Oklahoma's four wins was against South Carolina so in all tie breaking scenarios South Carolina is the worst team in conference. They either pass LSU in total wins or are the worst.

First up is LSU's tough slate. Their final two games start tonight with @Kentucky. Kentucky has not been the greatest version of themselves lately but it is at Rupp where they have always been tough to beat. After that LSU hosts Texas A&M who was briefly a top ten team and is desperate to avoid any bad losses in the final week. If LSU gets either of these SCar is last place.

But SCar must win out for this to even be a conversation. First they host Georgia tonight. The Bulldogs are incredibly improved from recent form, and are currently listed in the LAST FOUR BYES. An L to SCar would ruin that dream for them. After that is the incredibly high task of winning at Tennessee to finish off the season. Tennessee is trying to solidify a 1 seed and a loss to a SCar team would raise some eyebrows.

All of that to say that SCar not finishing last would be a seismic shock with wins over two tournament teams to end the season. Stranger things have happened......but come on.

South Carolina is being fitted for their Burger King Crown but they can delay the coronation by a few more days with a win tonight and an LSU loss.

If we're going to suck let's do the GD thing right. I want last.

No team can ever eclipse our perfection from last year.

LSU just needs one more year to correct some of the issues. Next year we will be a contender in March. Missing a couple pieces.

You must really have nothing better to do.

Vanderbilt went 0-18 in 2017. We could see who was worse.. I’m willing to bet that Vanderbilt team probably was.

I think Matt McMahon is doing one heck of a job and should receive a contract extension

I think you could take this exact LSU team place them in pretty much any other conference and they would be a bubble team or maybe even solidly in the tournament as like a 9-10 seed. The SEC is just so freaking good that good teams look decent and decent teams look below average

I agree with this. You'd likely need a lot more wins to make up for the lack of schedule strength compared to the SEC.

Is it’s coincidence that both of these universities have great women’s teams?

Having a quality coach running any program is difficult

Tennessee's women fell off right as the men started picking up

I will say UConn exists

Regardless of what teams my Sooners have beaten, they deserved last place at least honorary last place due to the HC.
