Gone after one season unless he is a day one starter.
Otherwise gone after 2nd season to a higher bidder.
Any recruit making a decision based ONLY on money is often not worth the headache.

It usually doesn't end well When it's just money. I'm pretty pleased with the other tackles we took, especially Jackson Lloyd. Was a 3 star when he committed and worked himself up to a 5 star on On3.

While Haywood worked himself down to a composite 4 star

Michigan developed offensive linemen into NFL prospects — including Zak Zinter, Andrew Stueber, LaDarius Henderson, Karsen Barnhart, Ryan Hayes, Drake Nugent, Olu Oluwatimi and Trevor Keegan in recent years

That 2022 class still has a surprise in it.
Le'Veon Moss will be holding that Doak Walker trophy here soon.

Who knows and at this point and who cares? The kid and his family made his recruiting decision solely based on money, which is their right. I'm just glad the Bama staff didn't get into a bidding war and unload the checkbook on a HS kid who could just as easily be a bust as he could a star.
That's like I think LSU did the right thing and not get into a bidding war over Underwood. There are more QB busts than there are those who turn into stars. Smart move by LSU.

The vast, vast majority of recruits are prioritizing money over anything else in recruitment now. They know they can always move on after a year if necessary.

And at some point recruits and their parents are going to figure out that many times the place that is paying the most money isn't the best fit for their development. Just because a school pays the most money doesn't mean it's the best fit for the kid from a development standpoint.

And more than that, it's bad to move around 2-3 times. The players that are constantly moving never really seem to develop.

Yep, and the multiple transfers are happening a lot and a lot of it is money-driven. Which is not seeing past your nose type of thinking. They're not thinking about development (long-term concept) but the money (the here and now).

He has a high ceiling. But was always a prospect that likely needed a couple years. I don’t think you can expect him to step in at LT year one and excel.

With the huge amount of NIL money out there, I think you will see a lot more blue chip prospects bust, peaking in high school. In the past college players were still hungry to make the NFL so they could have generational wealth.
Now you have some 18 year olds getting paid more than 1st round NFL picks. It is going to take a special mindset for those guys to stay motivated and not feel like they have accomplished their end goal. I know if someone had given me a few million dollars, no strings attached, as an 18 year old I would have had a hard time staying very focused and motivated..

Kid is destined for failure with the mindset he carried through the end of that recruitment

Who knows, but seems like a high risk.
I think in the end, the smart schools will start to treat kids based on their experience and stop giving true freshmen boat loads of money. Instead, spend the money on keeping the good players you have and have developed each year, and maybe spending a bit to fill in some needs with transfers.
Maybe he will work out, but the trouble with that is you're going to have keep paying money driven players more and more if they do, otherwise someone will come in and snatch them their Jr year etc.
Once people start spending millions to develop a kid only to watch them leave/bust, I think things will start to change. Right now it's just frenzy and lessons need to be learned.

Michigan has more money than everyone in the SEC not named A&M, and even then it's pretty close.
