Solid.

The story also mentioned several other supposed insiders. I was wondering if there has been any recent buzz about this. Who else would they add to get to twenty teams?

If... HUGE if... This is true, then UNC is really overestimating BB's sway anywhere outside of Foxboro.

Yeah, just thought it strange they would lead thier sourcing with that.
If that leads to the breakup of the ACC, i can see a scramble between SEC and B1G for the premier programs.
FLST, SMU, Clemson, Miami are suddenly very attractive additions for either conference.

I'm thinking BB signed on with UNC because they told him they were moving to either SEC or B1G. For any conference to add a school because they have a 70 year old coach would be short-sighted to say the least.

Combine the BIG, SEC, and the 4 big ACC programs, leave the NCAA, and start our own thing.

Well if that was the promise, without proof then BB is an idiot.
I don't think he is which is why it's more likely they brought him in for "roster management" in the new NIL era, since he made chicken salad out of some chicken shite limitations.

UNC has one of the biggest basketball brands out there - possibly the biggest - and they are a school that could be far more successful in football than they have historically been, if they chose to be. Perhaps the hiring of Belichick indicates that they have finally made that choice? I don't think he is going to be successful as a college coach, mind you, but the fact that they hired him does speak to a new level of commitment by UNC to field a competitive football team.

They are about 10 years late on his peak influence. Was a good NFL coach but most are going to see him as a guy who lucked into Tom Brady now.

Seems to be unconfirmed rumors that the Big-10 will vote Nebraska out over its lack of AAU membership.
Nebraska to the SEC was the prediction.
Do not want.
If expansion is necessary - UNC, UVA, FSU, and Clemson

BB's hiring as I said when he was hired is about them investing big money into their football program and them moving to another conference. BB's hire is in my opinion is about more of the business of football rather than on field results. BB will get their football money up, get them to another conference, and he will install an administrative model for their football program for the future.

The Nebraska rumor has been a long time since they lost their AAU accreditation. It bothers the big10 immensely.
North Carolina would definitely be too on their list
Florida State and and Clemson are not AAU, although Florida State has worked hard to get there and is really close apparently.
Duke, Virginia, Georgia tech and Miami would be the only ones that big ten would possibly take.

Miami is an AAU member and they have the right people there.

People always say this but these facts tell a different story.
1) it was known by the big ten before inviting Nebraska that they were losing AAU status.
2) nd (only became aau less than a year ago) has been coveted by the big ten for over a decade now
3) Kevin Warren(former big ten commish) and Tony petite have both said on multiple occasions “if” the big ten expands aau status will not be a priority. The new priority is…..can you bring value to the deal.

Send them back to the Big 12 where they’ve always belonged. Send Mizzou with them. Replace with UNC and consider adding SMU and UVA. Leave the rest to flounder.

I don’t think expansion is a priority, priority one should be helping the acc keep Clem fsu and unc in house til 36. Priority two is making sure you know when the big ten is going to invite any combo of Miami fsu Clem unc, and offer first.
