You had the QB and the receivers. A Heisman winner who is on the verge of being the first rookie QB to lead his team to the Super Bowl.

Yet you still find a way to lose three games.

The Cookie monster went undefeated with pretty much that same group. Great QB and two great WR's.

He had defensive talent all over and Dave Aranda

In 2023 we had not much on the defensive end talent wise (middle of DLine was good, but had literally no coach all season) and Matt House.

Thats the difference

Larry Coker comes to mind, I know he won a title but Miami went from best team ever under his watch to mid tier acc(the worse division without fsu Clem)

I hate you for this, but must concede the point.

Well Jayden DID win the Heisman, and Malik SHOULD have won the Belitnikoff and Thomas was a top 3 receiver in college. So no they weren’t wasted. They milked them for everything they had. Wasting them would be forcing Jayden to stand in the pocket and not letting him play his game to free up the receivers to reach their full potential. For example.

LSU had a good run. But wasting talent like that is the default setting. Their streak of luck is over.

The 2008 Tennessee Vols (Phil Fulmer and OC Dave Clawson).

They went 5-7, including a loss at home to Wyoming and an overtime loss to 4-8 UCLA. They eeked out a 4-point win over 6-7 Northern Illinois, and lost to a horrible 5-7 Auburn team. Their roster included:

Arian Foster (All Pro, NFL Season Rushing Leader)
Robert Ayres (9 Year NFL Career)
Eric Berry (All American, All-Pro)
Dan Williams (7 Year NFL Career)
Ramon Foster (10 Year NFL Career)

It was said that the only coach in the SEC who could hold Arian Foster under 100 yards in a game was Dave Clawson.

I hate Tennessee but I don’t know how anyone could not like Eric Berry. He was a beast.

Les Miles! Had he modernized the offense and recruited decent QB's LSU could've at least a couple more Natty's (2011, Fournette's junior year)

How long have you watched the game of football? Has it been long enough to figure out that there are 3 separate facets to the game? Offense, defense, and special teams. LSU's 2023 offense was champion caliber, they did a lot. The defense couldn't have competed in the dixie yutes.

Ironically, it seems your 63 year old head coach is just now realizing that you can tackle the other team when they have the ball.

With all that talent he had over his entire career, he should have won more titles.
