1. Additions of Texas and OU were great additions. They fit into the SEC culture perfectly.
2. Parity- some great games and upsets. Don’t see this changing.
3. Real happy for Florida. Glad Napier figured it out.
4. The conference needs to stay at 8 games
5. Liked the 3 game “SEC on ABC” setup. Had compelling games on all day and no ESPN to watch.
6. Need to hire SEC refs full time and look at how penalties are called and why. Game has become too much about refs. Don’t like
7. Maybe time for Sankey to retire. Not a fan of this 12 team format which he spearheaded. I’ll be watching to see if he ups his game and gets the format and selecting process better.
8. Oklahoma will be a force to be reckoned with down the road.
9. I want Lane Kiffin at Alabama
10. Let’s move the SEC championship around the footprint. Tired of Atlanta.
11. Let’s add FSU, Miami, Clemson and Virginia Tech.
12. SEC and Big 10 need more seasonal games.
Finally, until ND joins a conference, let’s just all pitch in and buy them a participation trophy but they should not be included in a playoff playing one less game.

Looking forward already to next year.

No.

The conference needs to retract to 10 teams and play a nine-game schedule.

See above.

Miami is more SEC than I think you realize. I remember partying with Miami fan in Nola for the ‘93 Natty game. They were full of passion and had a huge following. I’d be good with them. But, I respect your view.

The culture I’ve seen on TV seems like it might have changed a bit from what you described. That was 30 years ago.

10 conference games and no championship or 3-5 format for scheduling. Nothing else will work

Why do posters on here refuse to realize conference membership is about money and what a new team brings to the table and not just "dominence."

Adding major teams already in your TV markets just dilutes the earnings of the members.

True, but I’d say all fan bases have changed as well. What football needs to worry about is soccer. I go to my grandsons soccer games and there’s 10 fields full of 3-5 year olds playing soccer. None of his friends throw a football.just saying lookout 50 years down the road.

The only way a 9 game SEC schedule works is if its 4 home, 4 away, and one true neutral site game.

100% correct. It’s all about money. My Four schools have huge fan bases. Equates to bigger deals with networks etc of which i personally don’t give a flip cause it doesn’t impact me. It would mean more compelling games therefore more money.

Biggest bandwagon fan base in CFB. Frick’em and keep them out of the league

If we went 10 conference games, then we’d need our own SEC playoff and crown the SEC champ the National Champion as well. I’m down with this.

What’s wrong with the conferences all claiming they’re the champ? It’s how it used to be. Until we go to an NFL style system ( which I don’t want), we’re never going to truly know who the true champion would be.

On the other hand, here’s my stab at a playoff

Top four teams of each conference play the weekend traditionally reserved for conference championship games. Around de6 or so. Winners play two weeks later for championship games. Dec 20 or so.

Four conferences involved. SEC,B10,ACC,BIG 12

New Year’s Day play Two natty semis .

Around Jan 10 play Natty.

Won’t need selection committee

These four conferences should add teams not from these conferences like a ND etc if they want in.

If ND doesn’t want to play, let them pound sand

The quality of football is down across the board. Players aren't as consistent or elite as they use to be. Distractions are magnified.

3. Real happy for Florida. Glad Napier figured it out.

I'm the only person in the world not surprised.

4. The conference needs to stay at 8 games
5. Liked the 3 game “SEC on ABC” setup. Had compelling games on all day and no ESPN to watch.

I agree

To be fair, some of the rules they are asked to enforce like targeting are fricking stupid. Won't be long until they have to break out the physics formulas.

7. Maybe time for Sankey to retire. Not a fan of this 12 team format which he spearheaded. I’ll be watching to see if he ups his game and gets the format and selecting process better.

Sankey has never been good. A nightmare from the start.

8. Oklahoma will be a force to be reckoned with down the road.

Of course

9. I want Lane Kiffin at Alabama

As OC?

quote:

10. Let’s move the SEC championship around the footprint. Tired of Atlanta.

There is no reason to do this. It's a dome and it's the same 100 yards as anywhere else. If anything, it's no longer needed with the current shitty playoffs.

quote:

11. Let’s add FSU, Miami, Clemson and Virginia Tech.

Go frick yourself.

quote:

12. SEC and Big 10 need more seasonal games.

Sure, but the current playoff formula doesn't promote this as a good idea.
