Playoff Committee protected the SEC by guaranteeing that either OSU/Oregon lose this week

Everyone knows that Ohio State and Oregon are the two best teams in the country & that the SEC can't compete with either the Buckeyes or the Ducks
Ohio State removed any doubt about that last night in one of the worst beatdowns I've ever witnessed.
The SEC was outmatched, humiliated & emasculated..
They wanted to avoid an All Big Ten Championship Game Rematch between OSU/Oregon so they set the bracket up to assure that one of them would get knocked out in Round 2.
They knew that if Round 2 was Ohio State vs Georgia & Oregon vs Texas that the SEC would be eliminated and it would basically be an All Big Ten Tournament Final Four.

That the 2 best teams in the country are playing each other in Round 2 just to assure that one of them is eliminated to avoid a rematch in the Title Game, and to prevent an All Big Ten Title Game.
They knew that if Oregon & Ohio State were on opposite sides of the bracket that they would run through the SEC Teams like a hot knife through butter.

If I was seeding the teams..
1. Oregon - beat OSU, undefeated
2. Georgia - beat Texas 2x
3. Texas - beat Michigan on road
4. Ohio State - lost to Michigan at home
5. Notre Dame
6. Penn State - lost to OSU
7. Boise State
8. Arizona State
They are all beatable imo..

Just to assure that on of them are eliminated because they knew that the SEC can't compete with either of them.
Basically they want a DEI SEC Team in the Finals.

Michigan is Texas's biggest win ?

No, but it is their only common opponent with OSU.
And it suggests Texas should be ranked ahead of OSU due to OSU losing to them at home and Texas beating them on the road.
That and the fact they have a better record (11-2 vs 10-2).

What was their other option? Explain a different seeding order.

The B1G plays second fiddle to the SEC...and always will.

What about Penn State having a joke of a playoff schedule?

I think you understand how the seedings work and why teams were seeded where they were.
OSU vs ND - Ohio State knew they had to beat Michigan going into the Michigan game to maintain their ranking. They didn't. Blame is on Ohio State because they lost late in the season to 7-5 Michigan at home and had 2 losses. ND had only one loss, by 2 early in the season (yes, to a bad team).
OSU vs Texas - Texas only lost to one team, #2Georgia, twice. They beat Michigan on the road and Ohio State lost to Michigan at home.
OSU vs Penn State - Penn St played in the Big 10 Conference Championship Game, but OSU did not, so OSU was not going to be ranked ahead of them, despite beating them by 7 head-to-head.
This is why #6 ranked OSU was #8 in the seeding, behind Texas, Penn St, and ND. The #8-#9 Playoff winner plays #1 in the 2nd round.
Also, among the 4 conference champs that made the playoffs, Georgia was not going to be seeded behind Boise St and Arizona St, that;s why they were the #2 seed
This was not a conspiracy.
