For all you spouting off about UA being broke because Greg Byrne has encouraged people to participate in the Yea Alabama NILVollective.
Schools can’t pay it:
A combination of school policies and state laws dictate what deals athletes can make. In states with no oversight, the NCAA has universities write policies for their own athletes. Some common school requirements are that athletes get business advice or training before making deals, or preventing them from promoting certain products. State laws are primarily focused on preventing NIL deals from being used as recruitment tools. Schools can't pay students directly, but some states have murky laws surrounding just how involved a school's booster club can get.”
NIL
UA doesn’t have a revolving door of crappy coaches the are paying huge sums of money to leave.

Bamas AD suggested they don’t have much money. I’m sure the classy sidewalk bama fans will donate.

Think of it this way, Alabama only had to pay half of the normal price for Saban’s statue

And, we still can't out-spend Auburn. It's a reality that Auburn has more affluent alums and boosters than Alabama. When you look at the current Power 2 universities, Bama is at the lower end of those schools in the way of money.
Also, the State of Ohio just approved today that universities in their state can pay athletes directly for NIL. In other words, Ohio State just got a bit stronger.

I keep seeing Alabama fans thinking this is about the university itself, but that's not the case. It's about the boosters.
Alabama does not have a Yellowwood who can drop tens of millions like he was scratching his arse. They don't have a tech CEO where millions is a rounding error to him. They are like LSU where they have a bunch of former bagmen who think they're big time players but are now realizing just how small they are.
But honestly even without that Alabama has done just fine for itself. They continue to have top recruiting classes. That is coming from spending a lot of money. But Brynes knows this is an arms race and he needs as much money as he can get his hands on.

That’s a whole lot of words just to confirm UA is broke.

You’re broke. Need to deal with it, acceptance is step 1.

Watching SEC football for the next few years will be so much fun.

Maybe they should put the toll back on the Foley Express. The path to orange beach is paved in NIL funding.
