And it’s really awesome if you look at it via a different perspective.

Obviously I’m not part of the winning team on this.
And honestly, I don’t even know who is the apex predator is on the NIL front.

But this is more alpha than NFL because all 32 teams get one crack at the top 32 players; Baring trades, in the NFL.

But here? No one even knows who Kaiser Soze is. I have some guesses on who could be and I’m not mad at them. Is it Texas? OSU? Oregon?

Michigan just schlonged LSU.

The most alpha team could come and blindside Michigan for underwood right now. And….they just might.

I had no clue portnoy could talk to the owner of Oracle and via his girlfriend, consolidate a deal for a player.

Is Tim Cook even watching? If you get three billionaires together it will be Texas swc moneywars all over again.

If I were a fan of what I deem to be the most able bodied NIL players, I’d relish this next two years. I don’t think they can regulate it after the caps are put in place, either.

And then, all a sudden comes a butler or Gonzaga of football. It will be an Iowa or Tennesee.

Their lower rent players will buy in to what the coach is selling. They will floor everyone on a particular year. Everyone will pull for them.

The Yankees don’t win every year.

Idk. It seems that way now and definitely feels like it. But if Underwood busts this is going to be fricking HILARIOUS

Since Phil Knight realized he is quickly running out of years to see his beloved ducks win something...it's Oregon and then everyone else fighting for second place.

It might be worth it to the rest of us if he gets that out of the way this year, but then again he could leave a sizeable chunk of his fortune for duck NIL to carry on long after he's gone.

Sources say Cook was a Missouri fan from 2009-2013...

The talent will flush north and west, which was the idea all along.

Found the one disadvantage the South has.

THIS...NIL was designed to give teams outside the south a chance.. Evil always boils back to the things they control, money.

I wouldn't know - but I would suspect most of the uber-rich feel NIL a waste of their money or a poor investment - even from a philanthropic perspective

This 100%. Makes no sense to me. I don’t see how it’s sustainable to keep relying on donors to fund NIL.

Ohio State, Tennessee, and Oregon are swinging the big NIL sticks at the moment.

It's not because they have more money than everyone else, but they do have as much as anyone, and more than a lot of schools.

These three schools were forward thinking and set up very good NIL programs from the start. At the moment they're the well most organized and well funded. Other major schools will follow suit very soon.

I always thought the most successful teams in NIL will somehow fund it through corporate advertising dollars rather than individual donors. Alienating customers that are fans of other schools and pissing off other owners/board members who see it as wasteful would be a problem though.

Or a Vanderbilt in baseball. CFB desperately needs a dose of parity and unpredictability, but the Wild West that is v.1 of the NIL isn't good, I think.

But trolling aside, Tennessee has and always had potential. Someone like Iowa, Wisconsin, UCF, Houston, etc going on a tear seems totally possible. But not Arkansas. That requires decisive and competent leadership that's willing to adapt to the new reality, and it's entirely unacceptable on every level that we could have that. So, that'll get nixed with a quickness if it ever looks like it might be a thing.
