Is losing by three tds and only putting up 3 points against an unranked team a fireable offense for a HC? To me it is, but let's hear the board's response?

Maybe, but the buyout is too big and Byrne would have to admit he failed in the hire, so he’s not going to be fired, not even after the loss that is coming next week.

I just don't see a path back for CKD after tonight. I know he'll get another year, but it would be great if we could find an off ramp somehow.

It’s on Nick Sheridan. His tweets are protected as of this moment and his play calling is atrocious. Doesn’t help Jalen Milroe is his quarterback. Even with a running quarterback, this is awful. Get them both out of here. They’re terrible.

It’s CKD’s offense and the product is his responsibility. I’m not a huge Sheridan fan but I blame DeBoer far more than I blame him for the failures of this offense

I think it’s a hurts Tua situation where Daboll couldn’t call half his playbook the whole season until Tua came in the 2nd half and it was just a whole different team.

If it was next year absolutely. I don’t think there’s any way they do it this year though. The football program is way too important to the university to let it slide into mediocrity again. But it’s quickly happening.

You can't make chicken salad with chicken poop. An Milroe is poop.

Did you watch any Washington games when DeBoer was the head coach?

If so, please compare and contrast the offense that UW ran compared to what BAMA has run in 2024 with Milroe at QB.

Do you think Ryan Grubb was the key to Washington’s success?

If so, then we can have that discussion.

Our current QB cannot read a defense, whether on zone read plays, RPOs, or set pass plays. This has not changed since 2022. That is a fact based statement.

Technically 2 TDs because the refs are dipshits. I know it’s not official, but still.

I don’t know, but I’m beginning to believe that DeBoer isn’t cut out for Alabama. The standard is too high for us to lose games to Vandy and an Oklahoma team that wasn’t even bowl eligible going into last night.

He has lost to two 5 loss teams and had Milroe throw the ball 45 times against Tennessee. One ok, two worried, but all three? Fire his arse and start over.

OK, I will ask the same question I did last night: Who’s out there that’s any better than DeBoer? And who’s out there that will take the job if the standard and the expectations are that high?

Well...

Our OC kept running QB runs even in the 3rd after a smarter one would have stopped those in the 1st quarter and adjusted.

Our DC kept us ina 3-man front even though they were passing and they were gashing us getting outside easily whenever they wanted because he would adjust and have our DBs play like how Oklahoma had theirs play.. downhill.

Milroe is an inconsistent guy who is going to screw you away from home because he obviously can't handle it..

Yet go away from the run game and don't use playaction with downhill runs to give us easy throws.

Our special teams is also a mess with serious penalties against Vandy, dumbness against rocky top and bad punts against Oklahoma.

We have no poise away from home. Not the offense. Definitely not the QB. Definitely not our defense.

Got to give him 3 years to get players in to run his system.

The defense on the other hand

He gets 3 years minimum, and to be honest, I’m more of a 4-5 years minimum guy now as the year to year volatility is much higher these days so it takes a bit longer to truly see what you have.

There’s been some seriously bad coaching decisions made this year, but I need to see if DeBoer can learn, evolve, and what he can do with at least 1 but realistically 2 additional QBs over the next few years.

Yes, but we're in year 1 so there is nothing to do but let it ride. I don't think he's here more than 3-4 years though.

I think firing any coach in year 1 is ridiculous.

There are lots of coaches who had bad first seasons before turning it around. Kirby Smart notably.

Saban did at Bama too, but that’s not comparable because he took a dumpster fire. DeBoer took over a loaded roster.

If you fire a guy year 1, odds are you aren’t going to find many willing replacements.
